Best Homemade Energy Drinks for Kids

Making energy drinks for kids at home is a healthier and safer option than getting such drinks from market. Read on to find best homemade energy drinks for kids.

Many kids’ energy drinks are available in the market that are provided with flavours and colours that are appealing to the kids and kids love to drink them in hot weather or after their playtime but time has come to give a second thought about these drinks. These drinks contain certain stimulants which may lead to health hazards for the kids in the long run. To avoid health problem caused by kids’ energy drink available in the market, kids can be given healthy homemade drinks. Some of them are given below:

Apple and Carrot Smoothie

This smoothie rich in nutrients can be prepared by using plain yogurt, half cup carrot juice and 1/2 cup apple juice. All these ingredients should be mixed and strained. Children would definitely like it when served with ice cubes.

Berry Smoothie

To make this smoothie, frozen berries and 1 cup plain yogurt must be blended along with 1/2 cup apple juice. Then the liquid should be strained and served with ice cube. Mothers can use berries as per their kids’ choice.

Banana Smoothie

To make banana smoothie, 3 large ripe bananas, 1 tablespoon of wheat grass powder and 2 cups of cold water have to be blended till it becomes smooth. To make it appealing, ice cubes can be added. Kids would get minerals like potassium, magnesium, and vitamin B12 from this energy drink.

Carrot and Orange Juice

This tasty energy drink for the kids can be made using 1 cup carrot juice and 1 cup of orange juice. Both the ingredients should be blended well and then served to the kids. Kids would get rid of their fatigue when they consume this drink.

Apple Cider Drink

This drink is very refreshing for the kids. It can be prepared with 2 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, 2 teaspoon maple syrup, 16 ounces of cold water. All the ingredients should be mixed well and consumed. Kids would get phosphorus, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B6, magnesium and potassium from apple cider vinegar.

Mixed Berry Juice

Berries help in better digestion as they are rich in fibres. Berries also have lots of minerals and vitamins. Kids would prefer to drink energy drink made with mixed berries. To prepare this juice, 1 cup mixed berries such as cranberries, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries etc, 1 teaspoon of lime, 1 banana, 1/2 cup apple juice and honey. All the ingredients should be blended well till they turn into smooth liquid and then served to the kid.

Morning Starter

The kids can kick start their day with this morning starter energy drink which can be prepared with 1 banana, 2 spoons of almond powder, 1/2 cup plain yogurt, 1 cup milk, 1 spoon of flax seed (roasted and grinded). All these ingredients should be blended well and then served.

Orange Drink

This can be made with half cup orange juice, 2/3 strawberries, one banana, half cup plain yogurt, 1 teaspoon of honey and 2/3 ice cubes. All ingredients should be blended well and then served.

Mixed Fruit Smoothie

Cut fruits like Kiwi, Apple, Tomato, Peach and Banana into small pieces and then blend them. 1 teaspoon of honey can be mixed to make it tastier.
Not all kids like to have energy drinks of all types but mothers get a wide array of choices for their kids’ health drink and can serve their children the ones they prefer.
