Kids are highly energetic and most are blessed with robust metabolism. The contents of the school Tiffin box hardly last throughout the day and it is not surprising that they come home every day with a raving appetite. As a parent you must be ready with some lip smacking snack ideas for your little one.

1. Scrambled Eggs In Bread Cup

Scoop out the inner contents of a bread bun and keep aside. Heat oil and saute ginger, onion, garlic, tomato along with some chilli flakes before stirring in eggs and shredded coriander. This mixture should be separated into equal portions. Pour the egg mixture in the bread cup and grill it to a golden brown colour. This is a tantalizingly tasty dish.

2. Tiramisu Flavoured Milk Shake

Mix whole pasteurized milk with coffee powder and crushed sugar before spooning in two tea spoons of chocolate sauce. Pour in half a cup of milk in the glass and pour whipped cream on top of it with a rosette shape. Top up the delicious concoction with crushed cookies and serve chilled to your delighted kid.

3. Dipped Veggie Fingers

Heat butter in pan and saute shredded onions. Mix corn flour to a spoon of milk and keep aside. Add remaining milk to two spoons of cheese spread, salt and corn flour mixture. Boil the whole mixture till it is smooth and creamy and then add chilli flakes and oregano. Cut carrots and cucumbers into long sticks and serve them with delicious cheesy dip.

4. Bread Upma

Shred ginger and onions and gently saute them with cumin and mustard seeds, chopped green chillies and tomatoes should also be added along with diced potatoes. Add in red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt along with 1/4 cup of water to mixture before adding in cubed bread pieces. Cook on reduced heat for some time and garnish with spring onions before serving.

5. Chicken Kathi Roll

Marinate chicken cubes in ginger garlic paste before sauteing them till golden brown. Add roasted cumin, coriander, chat masala along with carrots and onions in it. Put butter on Maida roti and stuff the mixture into rotis to make a yummy kathi roll.

6. Caramelized Popcorn

Add in ready to cook corn kernels in pressure cooker with brown sugar. Cover cooker with inverted lid and shake it at intervals. Once the corn has popped transfer to bowl and serve immediately. However, it may not be safe to give popcorn to young children as it can cause choking hazard.

7. French Toast

Dip bread in a mixture of eggs, milk, chilli powder, garam masala powder, shredded carrots and onion. Fry the dipped bread pieces till golden brown and serve hot with tangy tomato sauce. The French toast is a popular kid friendly snack.

8. Mixed Fruit Smoothie

Mash banana, yoghurt, strawberry, apple and kiwi in the blender till a creamy consistency is achieved. Top the mixture with soaked nut slices and muesli and serve in a tall glass to your happy kid.

9. Fruit Chaat

Cut your kid’s favourite fruits into small cubes and garnish with finely shredded coriander and pomegranate seeds before topping with chaat powder. Serve with a toothpick in a colourful bowl.

10. Chinese Bhel

This wonderfully aromatic dish contains the right notes of all 6 tastes like sour, sweet, fiery, tangy, salty and bitter. All you have to do is to mix julienned carrot pieces, shredded cabbage, diced mushrooms, capsicum, onion and spring onion with greens and then drizzle tomato and hot garlic sauce on them. Now add fried noodles in the bowl and top the dish with chopped spring onion and caramelized onion. A little hot and sweet garlic sauce on top and the dish is ready.
