Comment: Though i too dont have that personal experience since my husband is the only son, i guess to in-laws its more line daughter-in-laws child vs. daughters child! Of course this is terrible and one should love each grand-child equally, but with some people till they learn to respect daughter-in-laws and of course vice-versa, this will be an issue! Â

Comment: No one can advocate one type of family system for everyone. In any case, it is not a matter of choice. One is compelled by circumstances. I am a product of a nuclear family. And I am very happy to be brought up in independent surroundings. I did miss my working mother sometimes. But that did not make me bitter.
