Here are some nutritious recipes made in an interesting manner so that naughty and impatient children eat well.

1. Chickoo Milkshake

Ingredients
Chickoo
Cool milk

Procedure
Chickoo is a child friendly fruit and is full of nutrition and fibre. For chickoo milkshake you need boiled and cooled milk, some chickoos and little bit of sugar or honey. Sugar or any sweetener can be omitted also. Make sure you remove the pith carefully from each chickoo and peel the skin properly so that it is easy to digest for your child. Add them along with cool milk to the blender and mix well. Pour in the glass and help your child drink it.

2. Dal and Vegetable Soup

Ingredients
1 table spoon of green moong dal – washed and drained
1/4 cup of finely chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup of grated cabbage
1 table spoon chopped spinach
Restricted quantity of salt

Procedure:
Take all the ingredients along with 1 cup of water in a cooker and cook for 2 – 3 whistles. Let the steam escape and let it cool. When it gets cooled, mix well in the blender. Transfer the blended mixture in a broad mouthed pan and bring it to boil. Add salt if needed. If you want you can garnish with fresh paneer or cottage cheese and serve your child after checking the warmth of the food.

3. Cheesy Risotto

Ingredients
3 table spoon of butter
1/2 cup of finely chopped onion
1 tea spoon of finely chopped garlic
2 table spoon of finely chopped carrots
2 table spoon of finely chopped French beans
1/4 cup boiled green peas
2 cups of cooked rice
1/2 cup of milk
1 table spoon fresh cream
1/4 cup grated cheese
Black pepper powder according to taste

Procedure
Heat the butter in a pan, add onions and sauté. Add garlic and sauté and then add all vegetables. Cook for 4 – 5 minutes. Now add rice, milk, cream and salt along with 1/2 cup of water. Bring it to boil and simmer for few minutes so that it becomes smooth. Add cheese and pepper before serving.

4. Fruit Custard

Ingredients
Milk – 1/2 litre
Custard powder – 2 table spoon
Banana
Apple
Pomegranate
Sugar according to the taste

Procedure
Boil the milk in one pan. Mix custard powder with cold milk in a small bowl and add it to the boiling milk. Make sure there are no lumps. Keep stirring and when the custard comes to one boil, take it off the heat. Add sugar after some time. Let the custard cool and then add finely chopped fruits to the custard before serving.

5. Beetroot and Carrot Raita

Ingredients
2 table spoon of grated beetroot
2 table spoon of grated carrot
1/2 cup of curd
Salt and pinch of sugar
1/4 tea spoon of roasted cumin seeds

Procedure
Add grated beetroot and carrot to curd. Mix other ingredients and mix well. Serve cool.
