Top Five Garlic Bread Recipes for Children

Garlic bread and toast recipes are easy to make and can be served as evening snacks for children. Let us take a look at the top five garlic bread and toast recipes for children right away.

Garlic is a medicinal herb not just healthy for adults, but highly beneficial for kids also. However, with its pungent smell and typical taste, making kids consume them is a big task for parents. Here are top five garlic bread recipes for children.

Garlic has high medicinal properties and using it in daily diet is extremely healthy for everyone including kids. If you use brown breads, it can be a healthier option. Here are some garlic bread recipes which your kids will definitely love to have.

1. Cheesy Garlic Bread Recipe

  • Bread – 4 to 5 slices(You can use any bread that you like)

  • Butter – 2 tablespoon

  • Medium sized garlic – 3 to 4 (minced, grated or crushed)

  • Cheese – 100 grams or 1/2 cup grated processed, cedar or mozzarella

  • Black pepper as per taste

  • Chilli flakes as per taste

  • Dry oregano or any other herb that you and your children like

  • Salt as per taste and requirement
  • Preheat oven for 392 degrees Fahrenheit or 200 degrees Celsius.

  • Cut the edges of the bread slices and then half the slices diagonally.

  • Take softened butter which means bring the butter to room temperature. Grate the garlic with the butter.

  • Add cheese to the mixture and spread it evenly on the bread slices.

  • Top it with cheese in abundance especially if your child likes the taste.

  • Sprinkle your favourite herb on it to add to the taste and flavour. 

  • Now place the slices on the tray and bake them for 5 to 6 minutes at the same temperature set.

  • Serve them as starter with tomato ketchup.
If you want to make this on pan, just make sure you keep the flame low and cover the pan with a lid.

2. Garlic Bread Cup Pizza

  • Bread – 3 slices

  • Butter – 1 tsp

  • Capsicum – medium sized finely chopped

  • Onion – medium sized finely chopped

  • Tomato ketchup as per taste

  • Pizza sauce as per taste

  • Cheese (to cover the toppings)

  • Chat masala
  • Cut the edges of the breads and then cut them in round shape. You can use the round cookie cutter or cut it with a container lid.

  • Now flatten the bread with the help of chapatti roller.

  • Add butter on both the sides of the bread.

  • Now add pizza sauce on the bread and fit them in muffin pan.

  • After this, sprinkle each cup with chat masala.

  • Add capsicum, onion and grated cheese on the top.

  • Now add tomato ketchup to the cups.

  • Preheat your oven at 190 Degree Celsius and bake the cups for 10 – 12 minutes.

  • Make sure the cups that come out are firm and crisp.

3. Fried Egg and Chutney Topping

  • Bread slices – 2 to 3

  • Butter.

  • Cheese.

  • Eggs – 2

  • Garlic chutney
  • Toast the bread to make it crisp.

  • Spread butter on each bread slice.

  • Make fried eggs or poach of the eggs to place them on each slice.

  • Spread the garlic chutney and if your child likes, tomato ketchup also on a plain toasted and buttered bread.

  • Now put this bread on the one that has fried egg on it.

  • Press it slightly and let your child enjoy the taste

4. Barbeque Chicken Garlic Bread

  • Take all the ingredients used for making classic garlic bread.

  • Small pieces of barbeque chicken 
  • Follow the procedure for making cheesy garlic bread as mentioned above. Also add barbeque chicken when you are topping it with cheese.
This can also turn out to be a quick fix evening snack for your children. It is not just tasty, but healthy too.

5. Masala Chicken on Garlic Bread

Children love to have garlic bread and when it is topped with masala chicken, they are going to love them more.

  • Garlic bread slices

  • Salted butter

  • Chicken masala

  • Cheese (grated)
  • Toast the bread slices or make garlic bread.

  • Spread butter on it generously.

  • Now top it with the cooked masala chicken (make sure the pieces are boneless and small)

  • Cover it with grated cheese

  • Preheat oven and cook for 5 minutes or till the cheese gets melted

We can top garlic bread with toppings like mushroom, sweet corn, capsicum, onion etc which makes it even more tastier and it is also a special treat for vegetarians.
