Hormonal imbalance is seen more in women and it occurs mostly when the women reach middle age. Although this seems just another biological issue, it actually affects the relationship of the woman with her near and dear ones.

The main hormones in the body of women are estrogen and progesterone and these are produced in equal quantities. But when the balance is impaired, one or the other hormone is produced more and this causes change in behaviour and life too. • Anxiety
  • Fatigue

Yoga for Hormonal Imbalance

Yoga asanas actually help in improving overall health and includes easy breathing exercises. These two things come together and this helps you to be aware of your body and cope with the changes going on into it. In fact performing some yoga asanas regularly can help you maintain your body weight, have control on your emotions and can help you in various ways. You experience the true relaxation and this helps you get connected to your inner self.

If you are not able to practice yoga everyday, you can at least perform asanas 4 – 5 times a week. Get in touch with an experienced yoga guru and then under his guidance and supervision, perform the asanas. Since the base is breathing pattern, you need to know the right time to breathe in and breathe out. This is important so that you get the maximum benefit of yoga and its asanas.

When you practice yoga, your endocrine glands are massaged and this helps in hormonal balance in the body. Since your self awareness is awakened you are capable of understanding your body and so nurture it in a better way.

  • Practice yoga and other breathing exercises and listen to relaxing music for some part of the day.
  • If you think you need professional help, consult the right medical professional and follow his advices properly.
  • Foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids help in hormonal balance procedure. Some of the good examples are salmon and walnuts. Tofu and soy also helps in the hormonal balancing process as they contain a chemical called phytoestrogen which helps in this process.
