Green tea or herbal is an ancient Chinese drink which provides good health and well being. Green tea is very beneficial for weight loss, boosting immunity and coping with diabetes. Read on to find more about the health benefits of green tea.


Health benefits of green tea were well known to Chinese and they have been taking advantage of this since ancient times. In fact they use it to treat problems like headache to depression. Recent researches even show that green tea has certain elements that inhibit the spread and growth of cancer cells too.

Though the green tea is processed differently, it comes from the same plant as of normal tea. It is believed that drinking green tea is the key to healthier life.


Health Benefits of Drinking Green Tea
 

Green tea or herbal tea can provide ample of health benefits. Have a quick look at some of the health benefits of green tea.

Reduction of Cholesterol – Green tea is believed to have positive effect and helps reduce cholesterol level. It is said to take care and balance the ratio of good cholesterol and bad cholesterol. 

Anti Ageing – Green tea is rich in antioxidants and so regular consumption of this tea effectively delays the ageing effects in men and women. There are other ingredients also that act as an anti-ageing element.

Stimulating – Though any tea is stimulating and makes you feel fresh and energetic, normal tea has its adverse effects on health too. Whereas green tea acts as a stimulant and is ideal to cope with exhaustion, laziness, low energy, sleepiness and improves blood circulation.

Helps in Weight Loss – Regular intake of green tea is said to have helped many people speed up the weight loss program. The main thing is that it increases the rate of metabolism and hence the fat storage of the body is consumed faster. You will have to drink a cup of green tea in the morning and experts are of the opinion that you will lose few pounds of your excess weight.

Anti-Diabetic – Green tea is also believed to reduce the blood sugar level provided you do not take it with sugar. It also results in better functioning of pancreas, better secretion of insulin and hence better decomposition and absorption of sugar. 

Immunity Boosting – Researchers are of the opinion that those people who drink green tea regularly are less prone to catching common illnesses and bacterial and viral infections. This is because green tea boosts immunity.

Effects on Cancer Cells – Studies have revealed that green tea not only inhibits the growth of cancer cells, it also kills them and that too without harming healthy tissues.

Prevents Tooth Decay – Studies reveal that green tea helps keep the teeth healthy too and prevents tooth decay if taken in regularly. 

Cardiac Health – Green tea contains components that prevent thickening of blood. This helps normal and right flow of blood in the body.

There are different varieties of green tea and you can choose the one that you find tasty and appealing fragrance. Along with other benefits, it also helps one to come out of the hangover and fatigue very easily.

Although green tea has many positive effects, it is not free from harm. Since it is a stimulating agent, it raises blood pressure. Also, it is actually toxic in nature and so have effects on liver and internal organs. In one hand it helps you stay slimmer and have a youthful body for long time, regular intake of this tea might have more harm than benefit. 

Green tea has components that aggravates formation of uric acid in the body and increases the situations of anemia. Also, long term consumption can prove dangerous and result in insomnia, restlessness, loss of appetite, irregular heart beats, irritability, constipation and in most cases acute addiction as well.
