Children are like soft clay. Parents are the Potters. It is the responsibility of the parents how they will shape up their kids. The behavioural pattern of the children depends on what they see in their surroundings. This includes how their parents behave with them and how they behave outside with others.

Discipline is very important in life and in shaping up the future of a child. A bohemian life leads to the ultimate downfall in the career and prospect of a child. So teaching your child to lead a disciplined life is very important. Here are some tips given how to teach your child proper disciplines.

1. Make Your Child Follow You

The best way to make your child disciplined is you yourself try to lead a disciplined life and make your child follow that. It is the general rule of the nature that children have the nature of following what they see around. As they live the maximum time with their parents so they try to copy exactly what their parents do.

2. Teach Them from the Very Beginning

If you want your child to be disciplined in life, teach them the values of discipline from the very beginning. His training should start just from the time he comes from the hospital. Training at that moment would mean fixing the time when you feed your baby. After that when he grows up and starts perceiving things, starts understanding things teach him the values of life. Teach him how a disciplined life makes a man wiser.

3. Teach your Child to Respect Time

Teach your child the values of time. Cultivate the importance of time in your children. When he understands it he will automatically start doing things in a disciplined way. Time is very important in everyone’s life. Time once gone never comes back. This lesson is to be taught to your children.

4. Appreciate your Child’s Good Behaviour

When your child really does something good do not ignore that. Instead appreciate it by saying, “Well done”, or “Good Job son” etc. This would grow his interest. Appreciation does not always mean giving gifts to your child. But when he does something extraordinary reward him as he deserves that.

5. Make Your Rules Clear

You should be very clear about the rules that you want your child to follow. Tell him what you expect from him and what you don’t. He should not get confusion about the rules. Tell him very clearly that he needs to clear his room every morning and make him do that if he forgets. If you do it he will think that cleaning his room is not at all compulsory and mom would manage it. Now this kind of attitude would make him undisciplined. So be strict about the rules.

6. Deal Tactfully With Arguments

When your child comes up with arguments like “All my friends have this, why not I? Do not lose your brain. Instead try to neutralise the argument by saying, “What did I tell you about this”. Sometimes keep silent when your child argues and your point will be clearer to him.

7. Give your Child time to Adapt

When you are changing track to bring your child back to a disciplined life if sometimes he goes haywire, do not yell at him or get angry. Instead give him proper time to make him disciplined and bring himself back to his original behaviour.

8. Never Bribe your Child

Do not bribe your child for anything. It is a sign of danger and once your child gets into the habits of receiving gifts for every good work that he does, he will stop listening to you if you cannot fulfil his demands.

9. Understand What your Child Exactly Wants

It is very important for parents to understand what your child exactly wants and work accordingly. It is the parents who understand the children the best than anyone else.

10. Spend Time With Kids

In order to understand your kids you need to spend time with your kids. To teach him proper discipline you need to constantly monitor your child.

Proper discipline is very important in everyone’s life. A disciplined life is appreciated by all. If your child is disciplined everyone will notice that. And they will give you the credit of making your child disciplined which feels very good.
