pregnancy. However, some food items are not safe to be consumed during pregnancy. So you must consult your doctor before including anything in your diet.
Certain pregnant women eat a lot of junk food now due to hunger during the second trimester. But, when a strict balanced diet is not followed during the third trimester, the pregnant women tend to gain excessive weight leading to problems such as gestational diabetes, hypertension, back ache, etc. So taking
junk food items during third trimester of pregnancy should be totally avoided.
Certain sea food items such as shark, shell fish and tile fish are also to be avoided. It is necessary to consult a doctor before including any seafood in your pregnancy diet. It is also good to avoid taking uncooked or raw food as they may cause food poisoning leading to viral infections.
Exercises to be Avoided during the Third Trimester of Pregnancy
High impact exercises and sports should be completely avoided during pregnancy. Heavy sports such as water skiing, foot ball, volley ball, basket ball, boxing, etc. should be avoided by pregnant women who are inclined towards these sports. But, it is good to practice the antenatal exercises under the guidance of the trainers. Certain postures may be difficult to attain during the third
trimester of pregnancy, which are to be avoided during the final trimester. Excessive walking, fast running, jumping, etc. would harm the baby, which are to be avoided so as to focus on safe delivery.
Sleeping Postures to be Avoided during Last Trimester
Generally, most of us have the habit of sleeping on the stomach or back, which are to be avoided during pregnancy. Sleeping on the tummy may not be possible during the last trimester and so it would automatically get avoided. But, sleeping on back side also is to be avoided as it may cause back aches. The foetal weight is observed on the spine. So if the pregnant women rest on the back, it may increase the burden on the back causing harm to the mother and the foetus. It is good to always sleep on the sides during pregnancy.
Habits Causing Danger throughout Pregnancy
Smoking and consuming alcohol would be highly dangerous for the brain development of the baby and pregnant women indulging in such activities should know that they are taking their baby towards defects at birth or
miscarriage. Smoking and consuming alcohol throughout pregnancy including the last trimester of pregnancy is to be totally avoided though there may be lot of mood swings during the final trimester of pregnancy.
Cosmetic to be Avoided during Third Trimester of Pregnancy
Certain women have the habit of using lot of cosmetic products and also visit the spas at regular intervals. Certain beauty products such as nail polishes and face creams may contain harmful chemicals. So it is better to avoid cosmetics containing harmful chemicals throughout pregnancy.
It is always better to avoid worrying a lot during pregnancy. Instead, the pregnant women may approach the doctor for all the questions increasing the worry in pregnant women. Enjoying the pregnancy would provide better results in pregnancy than worrying.
