5 Easy-to-Make Gift Ideas for Kids on Father's Day

Moms! Gear up for Father’s Day with these cool activities with your kids. Instead of buying dad a gift, help your kids make beautiful and simple mementos for dad this Father’s Day! Find five easy craft ideas that you and kids can make yourself below:

Photo Frame

On a thick cardboard, draw out thick alphabets to spell DADDY. Cut them out individually and ask your kids to go crazy colouring them in different colours. Give the letters a border using a thick permanent marker. Cut out pictures of your husband and kids and stick them from the back of the letters so that they look like they do in the picture. Overlap the letters slightly and glue them together. Glue the whole word onto a colourful thick paper and frame it.

Happy Father’s Day Colouring Card

Print the above image on plain white paper. Fold along the dotted line and let your kids colour in picture with colour pencils.

You are the World’s Best Dad, Hands Down! Card

Ask your kids to outline their hands’ impressions on pretty printed paper. Take thick coloured paper and fold it horizontally to look like a card. On the front page of the card, stick the hands with the fingers facing downwards. Write the following text on the front page of the card..

“You are the Best Dad in the World, HANDS DOWN!”

Let your kids fill the inside of the card however they wish.

Decorative Ties

On simple chart paper draw a basic tie pattern and cut it out. Using cotton buds dipped in different colour paints, let your kids create their own abstract designed ties. You can also stick some spare button or stones you have lying around on the ties. Attach a long ribbon to the back of the ties and write Happy Father’s Day on the back. You can also make your kids wear the ties and click fun photos for keepsakes.

Wonderful ideas. I would also include activities that the child's father enjoys like gardening or baking. I helped my son plant a small bush in a pot. One year my son had his father's shoe imprinted on a paper and then stamped his shoe on that, and wrote"following in my father's footprints."
nice approach for kids to express their ideas!thank u

What fun! Great ideas. Pretty simple too.
@Maya, i don't think such simple activities can ever overburden children. In fact they will increase our kids activities and more than that, i think our husbands will be so happy. I dont think they would ever expect such thoughtful handmade gifts from our kids and they will be happily surprised to receive them.

Hi, Sangeeta, do not burden your child with too many activities. Let him choose the activity of his or her choice.
