Get Set - And Go For Delivery

Are you expected to deliver soon? A few preparations can help to you to undergo the phase of delivery and childbirth smoothly. Read on to find tips for preparing yourself for delivery.

Preparing yourself for delivery will help you to save a lot of discomfort when the ‘D-Day’ arrives. You need to arrange for few things for yourself and your baby to avoid the hassle when you go to the maternity hospital for delivery. Have a quick look at few tips for preparing yourself for delivery and childbirth.

Delegate Responsibilities and Take Rest

You can start by cutting down on work by delegating responsibilities. Your body is doing enough work as it is in creating and supporting this new life and needs as much rest as it can get. So it is most important to get organized and start looking forward to your maternity leave. Where housework is concerned, make sure you get ample help from your husband or some close friends or relatives. In fact, you should start stocking your freezer, as you might not be able to get around too much after this. Also, you should have the necessary stores for the week or two after you are discharged from the hospital.

Keep Your Baby’s Nursery Ready

Is the nursery ready to welcome the baby? Well, you must see that it is neat, clean, warm and friendly so that the baby is comfortable in her new surroundings. The room that you choose should be airy with a lot of natural light. Of course, you may choose colourful curtains and cute wallpapers. But most importantly the sheets should be fresh and hygienic and brand new. Hopefully by now, your entire baby shopping should have been completed and your nappies and bibs in the right place. Do take care of all the details.

Pack Your Maternity Bags

The next question is - are your bags packed and ready to go to the hospital? Not many first - time mothers are aware of the first warning signs of labour. And so one should always be ready, because once the pains start it is just not possible to go around packing your things with a calm frame of mind. You would most likely forget something important and go into a panic, which would only serve to make a painful situation much worse.

Know About Good Paediatricians

After your delivery, you will need to take your baby to a paediatrician’s clinic for giving vaccinations frequently. Information about good paediatrician is also essential in case if baby faces any common health issues. You can find out from the new parents you know, your neighbours or relatives about the good paediatricians that are practising in your area. Having such information will help you a lot for taking care of the health of your baby.

Keep Your Home Organised

As you may go into labour anytime, it is a must to keep your house organised. Get your house cleaned by telling your spouse or family members. Get rid of unwanted things. Make sure that the things that you will need after delivery are kept handy. You will need things like crib sheets, swaddling cloth, nappies, diapers and many other things when you get back home after your delivery. Keeping your house organised can save a lot of time and hassle.

Educate Yourself on Parenting

This is also a good time to read up everything you can on bringing up a baby. Talk to friends and relatives who are only too willing to give you advice and pick up all the tips that you can on child rearing as well as postnatal care. You will need as much care as the baby will after the ordeal of childbirth.
On a lighter note, have as much fun as you can as these could well be a few of your last days of freedom for a long, long time. Visit friends or go to the theatre. Do whatever you find most fun and relaxing. Have a ball, before your life changes beyond recognition.

having a baby??
great..
go to your parlour and get haircut and manicure and pedicure ..and also get a nice face massage..feel fresh and beautiful.
make a list of things you won't be able to do at least for a month and discuss with your husband in advance.
call up your friends and prepare them in advance if you need help ..esp for a ride to hospital or to take care of your other children in case the labour starts at unexpected hour.
get some books or movies and try to trelax as much as possible.
do meditation to control your anxiety if at all you are delivering for the first time.
write down all important phone numbers and paste them at the most visible place in house.
wish you all a happy motherhood.

well there has been some effort taken but the most curcial facts are missing, like what should a person keep ready in the hospital bag. it says the person will not be able to think with a cool mind in pain, that being true, attempt should have been made to give a list and then they should also tell what to keep for a baby. i guess there needs to be more matter in the article.

the article should have what to bring to the hospital when having your baby. also explain why you need them. it can never say to much.
