Foods Your Children Must Avoid During Rainy Season


Children are susceptible to illnesses during rainy season. Therefore, it is essential to ensure that they have distilled water as well eat hygienic food. Let us take a look at some foods which children must avoid eating during rainy season.
Parents are more worried about their child’s health especially in rainy season. As in rainy season there are higher risks of infecting with unwanted health issues. So here is a small list of the precaution which a parent should consider and make their children to avoid the food items which may become the cause of child’s ill health.

Pakoras

In the monsoon season when it is drizzling outside at times adults too lose their control and go for a plate of pakoras with the tea while enjoying the rain, then how to control children who would demand the same. Though all find it relishing, one should know that it is not good for the health and especially for kids. Oily food can cause the problem of indigestion and added over it due to increase in humidity level in rainy season it affects the ability of digestive system. So keep your children away from pakoras.

Chaat

Chaat is another evergreen favourite option which is loved by kids, due to its tangy taste. But be aware in rainy season the ingredients used for making the chaats are not healthy and hygienic and they are even more hazardous for health in rainy season. The oil, curd and other materials used for making chatnis can contaminated due to the water or environment. These infectious chaat can lead to various harmful waterborne diseases to your children like jaundice, cholera, diarrhoea and so on.

Sea Food

Rainy season is the breeding season of the living being that lives in water so it is not good to consume sea food in this season.

Chinese Food

Chinese food prepared on street side can be very much harmful due to the usage of water which is contaminated in rainy season. Parents can also show their kids the flies and dirt settled on the Chinese food to make them aware of the harmful effects of eating road side Chinese food. In this way the child will and understand and will not dare to eat it even when you are not around to stop them.
Moreover if you eat this food in rainy season you will not able to make out the material used to make these were contaminated due to the heavy usage of artificial colours and flavours.

Leafy Vegetables

As everyone is well aware of the benefits of the leafy vegetables for health, but avoiding the usage of leafy vegetables in rainy season is advisable. Instead of leafy vegetables parents can use barley, oats, rice, curries and so on for their children. Still if at times they need to use leafy vegetables then make sure they are properly washed and boil them before use. The environment contains lots of humidity and so the leafy vegetables too found are damp and the leaves contain sticky dirt in it making these vegetable infectious in rainy season.

Juices

Roadside juices are more harmful because your children might not be aware of the water used in making the juice. Avoiding juices is more advisable instead of it try eating fruits and salad directly but make sure your child eats them after washing them carefully and as soon as they are cut.

Coffee and Aerated Drinks

As discussed earlier the digestive system of children becomes week in these days due to the large amount of humidity present in the air and coffee too adds on this making the digestive system slower. Instead of these give your child lots of filtered water to drink.
In rainy season parents must take care that children should not eat any roadside food and if by any means they have to then make sure the kitchen is hygienic and materials used is not contaminated. Make sure their eating habits are good which will protect them from water borne and airborne diseases in rainy season.

Street food is very risky for children especially panipuri. The water that they use for making panipuri may not be hygienic.
