Top Veg Puff Recipes for Children
Veg puffs are delicious snacks made easily at home and are liked by children of all ages. They make the kids feel full for long and also help you feed vegetables to your fussy eater. Read on to learn about top 3 veg puff recipes for children.

Veg puff, a favourite of most children, is not a difficult food item to be made at home. Here we are sharing with you the recipe so that you have real and yummy veg puffs made at home.

Mix Veg Puff Recipe

Ingredients
  • Puff pastry sheets – 300 gms
  • Medium sized potatoes – 2 copped in small cubes
  • Small medium carrot – 1 chopped in small cubes
  • Green peas – 1/3 cup
  • Large onion – 1 thinly sliced
  • Oil – 2 tablespoon
  • Ginger-garlic paste –1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1/4 tsp
  • Garam masala powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • Chopped coriander leaves – 2 table spoon
Procedure
  • Prepare the vegetables, clean and place them in a pan before placing them in cooker. Steam them for 8 to 9 minutes.
  • Strain the vegetables and keep them aside.
  • Take a pan and add 2 table spoon of oil. Let it get warm and then add onions to it and cook till it turns brown.
  • Now add ginger-garlic paste and stir till the aroma of roasted masala is felt.
  • Now add the steamed vegetables and then mix the remaining spices one by one. Stir well in between so that everything gets mixed up well.
  • Add coriander leaves finally.
  • Now preheat oven to 250 Degrees Celsius.
  • While the oven is getting heated, you can prepare the puffs. Take the dough and flattened it. Now cut it into rectangular pieces and place 2 tablespoons of vegetables on each of them. Brush the edges with water and joining the edges, press them lightly.
  • Now place them in the oven and bake for 30 to 40 minutes.
  • Let it cool for 5 minutes and then serve.
Once you have the base of making the puffs, you simply need to bring in variety in the stuffing materials.

Mushroom Puffs Recipe

When preparing mushroom puffs, you can use white mushrooms.
Ingredients
  • Puff pastry sheets – 300 gms
  • White mushrooms – 3 cups chopped into small pieces
  • Large onion – 1 thinly sliced
  • Oil – 2 tablespoon
  • Ginger-garlic paste – 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1/4 tsp
  • Garam masala powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • Chopped coriander leaves – 2 table spoon
Procedure

Veg Pizza Puff Recipe

Ingredients
  • Puff pastry sheets – 300 gms
  • Chopped capsicum – 1/4 cup
  • Chopped onions – 1/4 cup
  • Grated cheese – 1/4 cup
  • Pizza sauce
  • Dried oregano
Procedure
  • Before you start making the puffs you will have to preheat the oven for 15 minutes at 250 degree Fahrenheit.
  • Take the pastry dough and flatten it. Keep it slightly thicker than usually you make for puffs.
  • While cutting make use of the pastry cutter and keep the shapes round
  • Add pizza sauce and spread it
  • Place 1 table spoon of stuffing on each piece and place each one of the gently on the baking tray.
  • Add grated cheese on the top and sprinkle oregano on it.
  • Now place them in the oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Let them cool for few minutes and then serve.

Paneer Puff Recipe

Ingredients
  • Puff pastry sheets – 300 gms
  • Kasuri methi – a pinch to add flavour
  • Large onion – 1 thinly sliced
  • Oil – 2 tablespoon
  • Tomatoes – 2 finely chopped
  • Ginger-garlic paste – 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1/4 tsp
  • Garam masala powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • Chopped coriander leaves – 2 table spoon
Procedure
  • Cut or shred the paneer and keep aside.
  • Take a pan and add 2 table spoon of oil. Let it get warm and then add onions to it and cook till it turns brown.
  • Now add ginger-garlic paste and stir till the aroma of roasted masala is felt.
  • Now add paneer and then mix the remaining spices one by one. Stir well in between so that everything gets mixed up well.
  • Add coriander leaves finally.
  • Now preheat oven to 250 Degrees Celsius.

Kids love such snacks but we cannot give such snacks to them daily as they are made using refined flour. We must focus on giving them food items made of whole wheat flour.
