Here are some easy-to-make ice-candies just for your kids.

Orange-Banana Smoothie Ice-Candies

The sweetness of banana with a splish-splash of citrus make these pops one of the favourites.
  • Yogurt – 1 cup
  • Orange juice concentrate – 1/2 cup
  • Bananas – 2 large
  • Fresh lime juice – 1 tea spoon
Take bananas, yogurt, orange juice concentrate and lime juice in a blender and make a puree out of it. Pour them into the mould for Ice-Candies and freeze them until they are solid. If you are using paper cups, you would just need to tear the paper covering before having the Ice-Candies.

Watermelon Ice-Candies

Ice-Candies packed with freshness of watermelon would become the key element for your freezer this summer.
  • Deseeded watermelon – 2 1/2 cups
  • Vanilla extract – 1 tea spoon
  • Lime juice – 2 table spoon
  • Food grade rosewater – 1 table spoon
Simply blend the watermelon pieces with other flavours and pour them in Ice-Candies tray. Freeze for 3 – 4 hours or until the watermelon Ice-Candies are frozen. Give 3 – 5 minutes to let the Ice-Candies come out easily and enjoy the healthy summer treat with your kids.

Strawberry Cheesecake Ice-Candies

These are one of the best Ice-Candies kids like. They are party perfect also.
  • Cream cheese – 3 – 4 cups
  • Sour cream – 1/4 cup
  • Powdered sugar - 3/4 cups
  • Whole milk – 1/3 cup
  • Fresh or frozen strawberries finely chopped – 6
  • Melted butter – 1 table spoon
In the Blender add cream cheese, sour cream, whole milk and powdered sugar and blend. Add finely chopped strawberries and blend. Add melted butter gradually while the ingredients are being blended. Pour this mixture into the Ice-Candies tray and add nuts (optional) before pouring them so that kids have a crunchy Ice-Candies, for a change. Freeze for 4 – 6 hours.

Yogurt Ice-Candies

Yogurt makes Ice-Candies creamier and combination of fruits add flavour add health to them.
  • Yogurt – 2 cups
  • Fruits – a small bowl of mixed fruits
Mix and match the combination of yogurt and fruits considering your child’s taste. Yogurt makes the Ice-Candies more filling and creamy as well.

Chocolate Pudding Ice-Candies

Chocolate pops are one of the most favourite pops of kids. With these chocolate pudding pops, simple to make, your kids can have a chocolate treat as many times as they like this summer.
  • Bitter-sweet chocolate finely chopped – 2 cups
  • Granulated sugar – 1/3 cup
  • Unsalted butter – 3 table spoon
  • Fine salt – 1 pinch
  • Milk and cream mixed – 2 cups
  • Unflavoured powdered gelatine – 2 tea spoons
  • Vanilla extract – 1 tea spoon
Take a saucepan on low heat and add chocolate, sugar, butter and salt. Stir and keep till 6 minutes or till the sugar gets dissolved and chocolate melts. Let this mixture cool down. In a separate bowl add gelatine to the mixture of milk and cream and let it melt. Now pour this mixture into blender and add vanilla extract along with the chocolate mixture to it. Blend well and then pour it into the Ice-Candies tray. Freeze for 3 – 4 hours and let kids enjoy.

It is a good way to include fruits in the diet of children. And homemade ice candy is the best because they don't have any added flavours.
