Congratulations parents on the 6th birthday of your kid! If you are trying to understand what is going on with her, you will have to understand her developments first. She is going through a lot of personality changes now and her body is also undergoing many changes too.
It is surely wonderful to see her grow, but you would also want to do your best to help with her developments. This is the time when you must concentrate on your relation with your kid.

Physical Changes in Schoolgoers

She has gained more control over her body now. You can expect her physical development to be at its peak. She can now participate in plenty of complex activities like painting, drawing or dancing. This is the time when many doctors believe kids start gaining from their language, motor and developmental milestones. Do not be surprised if your kid insists on learning to ride a bike now.
She will have surprisingly high energy level now. It shall be difficult for you to make her fall asleep easily at night. However, make sure she gets at least 8 hours of sleep every day.

Neurological Changes in Schoolgoers

She has almost developed her brain like the size of an adult. Her neurological developments shall take place over the next 20 years. She has by now developed a strong sense of the right and the wrong. She also has a good sense of direction now. She shall develop a better understanding of organization and management with age. She shall also love interacting with the world around her. Gone are those days when she simply observed and reacted, she now finds pleasure in active participation as well.
She shall continue developing her language skills; understand different abstract concepts and writing skills.

On the Emotional and Social Side

You may expect her to appear in small social scenes. You will find her friendship blossoming with every single day. You may also find her getting confused and irritated upon not being able to make new friends. She shall seek your approval while making new relation. She shall be eager to socialize and at the same time find it difficult to share her own things with others.
Your feedback and opinion shall mean a lot to her. She shall however, learn to share with your parental guidance. You need to help her out with everything associated with expressing emotions in a relation.

Helpful Parenting Tips

It is normal for you to feel challenged sometimes while managing your 6 years old. Here are some helpful tips that you can try:
Your kid must get a structured environment for physical play and routine activity. Do make sure to offer positive reinforcements. Reward her for all the good manners and efforts she puts in. Take time to help her get rid of some of the negative habits like watching TV.
You can make her aware of the consequences of her good as well as bad behaviours. Do remember that children too love to receive incentives in form of rewards like us. So, even if it appears to become a habit, do reward her for all his good behaviours. When appreciated, she shall continue exhibiting them.
It is very normal if you feel your kid is testing your parental skills. You can always seek help of those experienced and elderly at home. Again, you always have the experts like a doctor to be by your side when necessary. So, relax and watch your kid grow every single day.
