Simple Ideas for Spending Time with Your Child

If you are wondering what plays you should engage in with your little one, here are some interesting ideas you can try. Interacting while playing shall be one of the best ways to ensure overall growth and development of your little one.

Reading Stories

can be a marvellous way to connect to your little one. Make sure to read slowly and be expressive rather than sounding monotonous. You can also ask her to predict an outcome rather than reading out the end of the story. Also encourage her to make up new stories every day. It shall be a wonderful way to encourage her to imagine and think differently. Asking her what can happen next in a story shall be a wonderful way to foster her speech, imagination and creativity.

Talking to Her

Rather than saying everything to her, you can ask her to describe what she sees. You can also ask her to describe herself. This can be an innovative way to help her speak and say new words.

Start Playing Games

By this age she is ready to understand rules of a game. You can now engage her in constructive games, play snake and ladder and enjoy some wonderful time together. Make sure the games are not too hard and age appropriate for her, otherwise she might lose interest altogether.

Encourage Outdoor Activities

Outdoor activities and ball games can be a wonderful way to ensure she has fun while playing. Playing with balls help improve her coordination skills and she shall also watch it while kicking, throwing or bouncing. Playing ball with her can be another wonderful way of spending time together.
Your kids always look to you for support and confidence. She shall also slowly develop the urge of playing with her peers now. When you engage in her different activities, you shall find her attention shifting from TV as well. She should not be spending more than an hour in front of the screen in a day.
