You can observe a lot of improvements taking place in your baby during the 47th week of her development. Read on to know more.
It is a pleasing satisfaction when you realize that the tiny bundle you carried home from the hospital has turned into this active, noisy ball of energy that you are busy cleaning after. Your ball of energy is stronger each week, so diaper changes can be a wrestling moment now as your strong baby is flexing her newfound independence – encourage this positive development.
If your baby has started walking now, do not think that she will walk perfectly. She will fall often because she is too wobbly now, but stumbles will not stop her. Your baby will not give up on walking as it is too exciting for her. It takes a lot of sense of balance, muscle strength, weight shifting, upright posture, leg alteration, and a lot of practice for your baby to get moving on her own two feet, and your baby would leave no stone unturned to bravely take her steps to make her walking better.
Improved Verbal Skills
Your baby has been improving her verbal skills daily, and she would end up learning faster if you can help her to do so. Label everything you and your baby come in contact with – name all the things, such as sun, moon, toast, spoon, dog, grass, tree, etc. – anything that you and your baby see and handle. Remember to speak slowly so that your baby can understand what you are saying and the new words can get registered in their developing brain.
Baby Concepts
You may have started teaching baby concepts to your baby a week or two earlier, but now you have to keep practicing it every day with your kid. Do not be upset if your baby cannot figure out what you are saying because each and every baby learn at a different pace – but you should not give up saying the words “wet and dryâ€, “up and downâ€, “hot and coldâ€, etc. when you and your baby come in contact with instances that fit those words..
Beyond Babbling
In week 47, your child will go beyond babbles –she will start forming familiar words. It does not happen overnight, as the pace of every baby is different, though every child understands far more than she can say. Use sign language, such as pointer finger while saying “What is that?†– Thiswill help your kid to understand words fluently. Use words from everyday life, such as “nite-nite†for sleeping, and use words with many meanings, such as “I want to drink juice†then take a glass of juice and say “No, I do not want waterâ€, then pick a glass of water – all these would strengthen your kid’s vocabulary skills.
Motor Skills
Your baby’s motor skills are finer now –she can grasp things easily. She can pick up small objects between her thumb and forefinger much easily. Your baby will practice this skill and try picking any little things she finds on the floor, which is more visible to her keen eyes than it is to yours. Be careful about dangerous little things that can be chocking and hazardous to your kid, such as pills or pieces of pet food or pushpins, etc. This could end up in your child’s mouth – so keep your floor clean to limit accidents for your increasingly mobile baby.
Do not try force learning your baby. Always make learning fun and use lots of actions and interesting words to keep your baby engaged – this will help her learn new words faster. Remember to praise your infant whenever your baby finally gets it figured out – this will keep her boosted and interested in learning more. Do not forget to repeat – repetitiveness is a great learning tool for babies.
