Anger Management

Anger can lead to physical and psychological problems. Learn how to control anger by using some anger management techniques. Anger is not worth it.

Anger is the main ingredient for all the recipes of problem, distress and failure. Though it is very difficult to control anger, sometimes, it is very simple learning to control anger. It is not just you; all human beings face the problem of managing anger. A very bad thing that a person can do is saying "I am not God to forgive". But remember that forgiving is taking the first step towards anger management. You should always try to give a chance to people around you rather than getting angry at them. You should learn to find your contribution when things are going wrong in your relationships or even in your professional life. Stop blaming others. Rather find out what your mistake is.
Getting angry creates a bad impression. It harms your relationships and creates barriers. It is also bad for your health. Getting angry increases blood pressure and your heart starts beating faster. It increases tension, mental stress and depression for you as well as others. Anger may also cause chest pains, headaches, migraine, sweating etc. Frequent bouts anger may also cause harm to heart muscle, may cause a heart attack. A person may also get addictied to alcohol, drugs or smoking to express anger.

Dealing with anger

Rather than harming yourself, there are many other things that can help deal with anger. You can adopt a few ways to resolve your anger issues. Here are some tips for making anger management easy, read on to find out which option will suit you better.
  • Try meditating regularly to keep your mind calm. Regular practice of meditation will help you to face tension and problems. There are many different forms of meditation for controlling anger, for example Vipassana meditation
  • Close your eyes and take a deep breath for few minutes whenever you feel frustrated
  • Close fists of both the hands and try to touch your nails to your palms
  • Learn to forgive others. Try to correct mistakes and clear misunderstandings
  • Place yourself in someone else's shoes. How would you feel if some body shouts or gets angry at you
  • Think of doing some innovative things like tearing papers, drinking water, punching a bag, squeezing a rubber ball or kicking ball when you get angry
  • Talk to close friends or someone you trust and get their views for solving the problem
  • Wash your face with cold water when you are unable to control your temper
  • Tell yourself that "I will not get angry at any one"every day
  • Avoid thinking that you are always correct. It is not about who is right but doing what is right
  • Try to review the entire situation to find out a cause for getting angry. Eliminate that cause so that you do not get angry next time
  • Learn to respect feelings of others.
  • Adopt some stress management techniques like Yoga
  • Consult a professional if your situation seems tough to handle. It will make a big difference
Always keep in mind that anger can only worsen any situation. The best thing you can do is keep you ego aside. Try to find solution for the problem through discussions. Group discussion can be a better option to manage your anger. It will help you to find different ways to control anger. Getting angry will not only hurt others but also harm you. Try to replace anger by making others feel important.
Anger will give rise to hatred, which in turn will increase stress. So learn to spread love instead of anger. If you will make others feel important they will make you feel important. Getting angry on others will let them down and you will start increasing the communication gap. It will also increase bitterness in relationships. Make life beautiful by avoiding anger. If you want to control anger, you can control it and even get rid of it. All you need is a positive attitude towards others and towards life. You look better when you smile than you are angry. It is not very difficult to keep ice on your head and sugar on your tongue to make things better.
