Tips for Pregnant Dads

Are you an expectant father? Here are tips for expectant dads or pregnant dads to make the journey of pregnancy smooth and memorable one.

Talking about expectant dads or pregnant dads, the first thing that comes to mind is that whether you are ready for the roller coaster ride after taking up the responsibility of making her pregnant. Indeed it is a great experience and an enriching one as you prepare to welcome a new life in your family and when you are living day and night with the woman who is nurturing the life inside her body.

As a primary reaction it is often found that the dads feels neglected as all the attention and care is bestowed upon the woman. But think of it, it is rearing the life and bearing all the pain of childbirth as well. And you have your own role to play in making the pregnancy a great family experience and showering all your love and affection on the woman of your life.

Pregnancy Care Tips for Pregnant Dads

Here are a few tips by which you can contribute in a beautiful way towards the pregnancy:

Enrol into Childbirth Classes -

There is nothing silly in this and dads to be are increasingly becoming aware of this. Once the woman goes into labour, it is found that men who have already an idea of what is happening and are better equipped to handle the situation and doing the needful instead of getting confused and panicky. These classes give you an opportunity to clear your doubts about matters that you do not know much of and thereby, stay prepared and calm.

Read Books on Pregnancy -

This too enhances your knowledge and also makes your woman feel that you are as much excited and interested in her pregnancy as she is. It is a great emotional comfort for the woman and is extremely helpful for her well-being as well. You can go through books or websites that are particularly designed for expectant dads.

Let Her Sleep -

The mom to be will often feel tired and exhausted during pregnancy. Allow her to take rest whenever she feels like. You can do your bit by playing her favourite music as she prepares for sleep, or making the bed or providing breakfast in bed, whichever way makes her feel happy.

Make Sure that the Household Chores are Run Smoothly -

During pregnancy there can be a lot of changes in the women like, an increased feeling of tiredness, anxiety and mood swings. All these affect her usual household work regardless of whether she is a working woman or not.

There are certain things that women like to do themselves and during pregnancy, they may not be able to do the same and this can be a big cause to upset them or make them feel emotional and cranky. As a partner, you are sure aware of these factors and here is the time when you can ensure that all the regular household activities go on as usual. This simply means that you need to take up additional responsibilities. Your woman would heartily thank you for that.

Feel the Baby -

This is a very simple but a great way to make your woman feel great, wanted and loved. Pregnancy is a wonderful experience and you must not let the opportunity pass without feeling it deeply. Place your hand right at the places that the mom directs and “feel” the baby moving inside her belly. The sense of movement of life is something to be cherished for the rest of your life.

In this way you can enjoy the beautiful phase of your woman’s pregnancy and there will be lots of memories which you can bundle-up for the rest of your life.

I am attending childbirth classes. My view has changed completely after attending just three sessions. I now respect my wife more because I know how much pain she has to bear.
