Preparing Your Body for Labour Pain

Prepare your body for the labour during the pregnancy period. Take proper diet, have mild exercise and learn breathing techniques that are of great help during childbirth. Take breathing classes and learn some yoga asanas that help during childbirth. Make sure you get all this from a certified expert.

Other methods used to ease labour pain apart from yoga are meditation, walking, hypnosis, massage or counter-pressure, taking a bath or shower and changing positions frequently. However, you should consult your doctor before following any of these methods.

Mental Preparation for Bearing Labour Pain

Prepare yourself mentally for the pain that you will experience during childbirth. Once you are aware of the type and intensity of pain, the tolerating power will automatically increase.

Joining Childbirth Classes

Joining childbirth classes helps and teaches different techniques to deal with labour pain. Not only this, they will also teach you techniques that will help in having uncomplicated and faster childbirth.

There are different types of techniques which are taught in childbirth classes and one of them teaches the would-be mother that everything is normal and she has to face everything confidently. This method also teaches to relax and concentrate on breathing so that childbirth is eased.

Taking Help of Partner in Managing Labour Pain

One of the methods is in which the father of the child is asked to participate during childbirth. This helps the doctor avoid medicine because the mother feels relaxed and supported having her partner with her.

Tips for Easing the Labour Pain

Here are some more tips just for you to ease your labour pain.

  • When in labour pain, you need to concentrate on your contractions. Remember, your body is the best indicator.
  • Keep the room peaceful and quiet. Move around as much as possible because the gravitational pull helps ease the labour pain.
  • Experiment with your positions and try few of them so that you get some relaxation and reduction of pain. Sometimes change in position also helps.
  • Your partner can massage your back. This will ease the pain and will also give you strength and confidence at this time.
  • Focus on anything that you like, you can hold your partner’s hands and look into his eyes.
  • Pay attention to your contractions. Eat high energy snacks if your doctor permits you or take fluids as much as you can and allowed.

Childbirth is a natural process and it is good for you and the child if you keep it completely natural. Opt for medication only when you find that you cannot hold or stand the pain. Also, take care of the risks involved for you and your child. Even if you choose natural childbirth, be under medical supervision.

Remember, the most important thing is what you want and what is good for you and your child. The impact of the whole lot of pain and discomfort will vanish as soon as you will hear the first cry of your newborn. So, you can relieve yourself that it is a matter of sometime and then happiness will take its place.
