The secret of a beautiful Christmas tree lies decorating it in layers. If you pass through different houses during Christmas you will find immense types of decorating ideas. Well, the smartness lies in gathering tips and ideas beforehand and then decorating your Christmas tree in a unique way this Christmas.

There are few steps that will help you decorate your Christmas tree the way you want. You can gather different ideas and make up your mind what you would like to have as a theme. This will help you give your Christmas tree that perfect finish and wrapping up which is in your mind.

Tips for Decorating Christmas Tree

Have a quick look at some tips for decorating your Christmas tree.

Trim the Branches –

The first thing that you should ensure is that your Christmas tree has green foliage no matter whether it is real or artificial. Make sure you cut and arrange the branches as you like. Decide beforehand where you would like to position the tree and then take few steps back to get a distant look. You can cut the branches that hamper its symmetrical look.

Keep the Tree Green and Fresh –

Green and fresh Christmas trees are always admirable. However, if you cannot have one, artificial one can fulfill your purpose. As for the green tree, pay attention to water so that it looks fresh and green throughout the festive time.

Choose the Right Lights –

Lights on Christmas tree are the first item and that should be chosen very carefully. You should also check that the lights are in right condition and working properly as well. Switch on and off few times and have a look at your tree from a distance so that you are satisfied with it.

Now it’s Time to Add Decorating Items –

Once you are done with the lighting, you should choose the colour scheme and mix and match your set of colours. Add the large size decorations in the bottom and reduce the size as going upwards. Hang baubles and droplets at the ends of the branches and take the treasured ones to the top. You can use ribbons to decorate the Christmas tree this time by making small and big bows with it.

Placement of Decorations –

Do not put the ornaments only on the tips. Placing ornaments and other decorative items inside the tree will add depth and interest in your decoration. Try to decorate the tree having a basic theme as this will enhance your decorations all the more.

Finishing Touch –

This is the most important part. Before you go for the finishing touch analyse your tree and the decorative items that you have added to it. For example, if your tree is very tall you should not put any big or heavy item on the top. Instead, you can hang the topper in front of the branches.

Personal Touch –

You can give your Christmas tree that personal and special touch by crafting the decorative items on your own. You can surround the base of the Christmas tree with wrapped presents.

Remember, decorating Christmas tree based on themes is getting popular day by day. If you have something in mind, make sure your theme is apparent and people immediately come to know what your message is. The theme can reflect your hobby, interest, career, colour scheme, family tradition or a reproduction of historic design. You will find plenty of ornaments available in shops matching your theme these days. Plan ahead and apply with full enthusiasm.
