Why High Heels Make You Feel Good

Why High Heels Make You Feel Good

Wearing high-heeled shoes does not only make you taller. It also makes you feel confident and stylish. All you need to pay attention to is walking with extra care. Read on to know some more benefits of wearing high heels.

Wearing shoes with high heels can be a painful experience. Still, virtually no woman can resist the call of a stylish pair of pumps. Although high heels are responsible for many foot problems, there is no denying that wearing high heels can make you look good.

High Heels Give You Height

Both short and tall women love wearing high heels. It has a way of making you feel good about yourself. Wearing high heels instantly adds 3 to 4 inches to your height. You will find that you are immediately on par with your taller friends and you are able to reach items on high shelves that you could not get to earlier. In a sense, you could say that high heels 'uplift' women. This is not limited to vertically challenged women only. Even a woman with average height will enjoy the feeling of being a few inches taller than her normal height.

High Heels Make You Look Thinner

High heels are famous for making a person look thinner. When you wear a pair of high-heeled shoes, it elongates the calf region of the leg. This gives the illusion of longer legs, and consequently, slimmer ones. This is why women who wear skinny jeans prefer high heels. The jeans conform to the shape of the legs. Combined with high heels, the overall effect is a slender look. This may vary depending on the type of heels you wear. However, the consensus is that high heels make you look slimmer than if you wore flats shoes with the same outfit.

High Heels add Style

No one will disagree that high heels make a person look good. They can add a touch of class to a simple outfit like jeans and a tee shirt and turn it from a casual look to an outfit suitable for an evening out. Heels are also the best bet for short and full-length skirts, since they enhance the overall shape of the outfit. They are also integral to a working woman's attire. For example, a pair of heels is a great complement to a good quality suit.

High Heels Make You Feel Confident

High heels can be excellent self-esteem boosters. High heels make a great difference to your body posture. The heels mainly cause the muscles in the calves to become prominent. This leads to an even balance in weight. In terms of posture, it causes your chest region and posterior to stick out, forcing you to pull your stomach in. This is the basic principle of good posture. Having good posture makes you appear more attractive to other people. This gives a further boost to your confidence and entices you to become more outgoing.

High Heels are Inexpensive

High heels are among the cheapest articles in a woman's wardrobe. A simple pair of high-heeled shoes from a small shoe shop will cost a reasonable amount. If you purchase your shoes from a roadside vendor, you may obtain them for a few hundred rupees. This does not mean all high heels come cheap. A good pair of heels from a reputed brand like Jimmy Choo can set you back by thousands of rupees. The shoes you purchase will largely depend on the occasion you are planning to use them for and how much you are willing to pay for them.
The average woman walks a middle ground when it comes to high heels. She does not wish to wear them everyday and ruin her health. At the same time, she wants to enjoy the benefits associated with them. Ultimately, it boils down to individual choice. Yes, high heels can do wonders for you but only if you actually know how to walk while wearing them.
