Pre-Teen's Growth and Development (11 Years, 5-Month-Old)

Parenthood is the most difficult part for any individual in his or her life and being a parent to an adolescent is a challenge for every parent. During this age, children will want to always push you away from them and want to be independent, but during this time you need to be patient and positive and this thing can play a major role in your child’s life.

Importance of Communicating with Children

Communication with the child is the key to being involved in your child’s life. Every parent should allow their children to make decisions but also make them realise their limitations which should not be crossed.

Taking Right Care of Children’s Diet

As parents we should plan out a proper health developmental plan, so that children eat healthy and stay fit. Helping child adapt healthy eating habits and developing good body shape is extremely important. A balanced diet with all five servings should be given to the child which includes fruits, vegetables, vitamins and many other necessary foods. Before helping the child make sure that you yourself have those healthy eating habits first so that you become the role model of your child.

Importance of Healthy Lifestyle for Children

Encourage your children to do some exercises daily which will keep them fit. Try to keep limitations on computers, TV, laptops and even cell phones as in this age children might get addicted to these things. Involve your child into current issues, have a discussion and encourage some good talking and thinking in the child. Try to think about several different ways to solve one problem and also make sure to discuss the outcomes of each solution.

Helping Children Deal with Puberty

During the puberty, ongoing conversations help a lot as the children know what is expected from them. If you are not comfortable enough for this conversation, you can also visit a doctor, friend or a counsellor who can help. Discuss every detail which the kids need to know; only gaining knowledge through TV and other sources is not going to help.

Providing Right Emotional Support to Child

During these adolescent years of your child it is important that they know they are loved and wanted by you no matter what happens. They might act up and not agree with things, but still you love them. Children might get confused with all the physical and mental changes happening in them. The child might be thrilled or even scared seeing such changes which are rapidly taking place in them.
During this time parents and children both face different challenges together. Some parents may also get confused when their child grows up, thinking about whether the she is a child or an adult. Keeping a constant conversation with your child can help you understand what your child is going through and you might also get the idea about her adolescence. Every parent has a concern how the child will handle all these emotional and physical changes happening to her in the time.

Importance of Providing Right Guidance

Understanding the child and talking to her, guiding the child at different stages is necessary so that you can influence your child with some positivity which might help her to cope up with their adolescence. Helping the child to adjust in her way will be more useful and efficient as your way might not be the exact way your child might want to use. Help the child to figure out the important problems and also make them realise their responsibilities now which have changed.
Give our child all the freedom but within the limits which you have set and let her figure out some things on her own. Give children their privacy and their independence also making sure that she does not make any mistake which they might have to regret lifelong. Be with your child at every step and also be a part in every possible thing of your child’s life. Try to bring out the best in your child’s life and also show them right path of living a happy life.
