This happened when my niece was 2-and-half. My sister-in-law was driving the car and her daughter Anshu was in the back-seat. Bored, Anshu said: "Mom, can you get ur steering and sit at the back please?"

When we were in the US, my two year old son used to play with a Hindi speaking neighbour. We are Telugu people and he picked up a few hindi words like Chappal pahano, ghumne chale, thak gaye ho??, etc etc. from his hindi speaking aunty. Once he wanted to say remove the chappals to her and didn't know what to say. So, he finally told Chappal pahano nahin!!!

My sister-in-law was teaching her 2 year old son to recite ‘The Prayer to the Lord.’ He started with, “My father, who art in heaven Hallowed be thy name Thy kingdom come Thy will be done On earth as it is in heaven (so far, so good) Give us this day, our daily biscuit (oops) So she asked him to repeat the last line. He said, ‘Give us this day our daily bread-stick’ (oops, again!) It was only after she had fed him, that he managed to get it right!
