One day my bhabhi had a son when his grandma told him that your mami had a son, he asked her how then she told that mami ke pet(belly) main se doctor ne baccha nikala hai. When we were in the US, my two year old son used to play with a Hindi speaking neighbour. We are Telugu people and he picked up a few hindi words like Chappal pahano, ghumne chale, thak gaye ho??, etc etc. from his hindi speaking aunty. Once he wanted to say remove the chappals to her and didn't know what to say. So, he finally told Chappal pahano nahin!!!

Our daughter Reina is 1yr old now. We have bought few cardboard books for her. We have taught her 'Tomato' and 'Onion' and she knows to pronounce them well. Whenever we ask her to say 'Tomato' she'll say 'Onion'. So one day I asked her to say 'Onion' with a hope that she would say 'Onion' but immediately she said 'Tomato'. We all burst out in laughter and wonder of how she could think and say the other word purposely. Same thing happens with A, B, C... Whenever we ask her to say A, She'll say B.
