My cute little boy is just one yr old. He can walk well without support. Whenever he comes across tiny bits of paper on the floor he quickly picks it up & puts it in the waste basket. I always encourage him to do so by appreciating it immediately. One day I was busy cutting carrots for dinner. As I was in a hurry I was cutting them so fast that few pieces fell down to the floor from the chopping board. My little one quickly picked them up & threw it in the waste basket.
