10 Good Habits Every Schoolgoer Must Follow
Good habits should be inculcated in children as early as possible. This is one of the best things parents should do so that their kids grow up safe, healthy and responsible. Read on to learn about the 10 good habits every schoolgoer must follow.

Whatever a child learns during early childhood remains with him or her throughout life. Good habits turn into good values after some time. So, teaching good habits should be on top priority of parents while nurturing their kids. Many parents find it difficult to continuously help their children follow good habits because it is not just about teaching, but practicing them makes children get used to them.

List of Good Habits School Going Children Must Follow

Here are 10 good habits school going children must follow for their healthy growth and development.

1. Focus on Nutritious Food

When kids start going to school, most often they want to have a pack of wafers or something dry and fast to eat in their lunch. Educate and encourage your child to have nutritious meal. Let your child understand the significance of eating healthy food.

2. Taking Care of Dental Health

School going kids grab on sweets and chocolates a lot. Make sure your child brushes his or her teeth twice daily. Take some time and educate her the importance of proper brushing. If your child is very young, make brushing teeth a fun-filled activity.

3. Establish Proper Sleep Routine

Bedtime should be almost fixed because sleeping on time will ensure proper and required rest for your child. This will help her concentrate well next day and also stay happy and healthy.

4. Physical Activity

Most of the schoolgoers prefer spending more time in front of TV. Make sure your child has sufficient physical activity daily to keep him or her healthy and fit.

5. Keep the Room Clean

Try to get your child clean up his or her messed room daily. Teach her how she can keep her room clean and things organized so that she never has to spend lot of time cleaning up her room.

6. Teach Financial Management

Give your child a specific amount as pocket money per month or week depending on the age of your child. Gift her a piggy bank and teach her financial management by encouraging her to save and manage expenses within a budget.

7. Teach Basic Etiquettes

Teach your school going child basic etiquettes like saying, “Please”, “thank you” and “excuse me” where needed. This will happen only when you start teaching and using them beforehand.

8. Teach Your Child to Share

This is important especially for those parents who have only child. Teach your child how to share and educate her how this brings lot of joy.

9. Public Place Manners

Try to educate your child about public place manners so that she is comfortable when she goes to school. Train her to throw trash in dustbin and never litter public places.

10. Take Self-Responsibility

Being responsible sound very heavy for a school going child. But if you educate your child, you will never have to struggle helping her complete her homework every day.
In addition to the above good habits, teach your child to maintain personal hygiene and learn the importance of time management and proper schedule. Let your child understand that doing all her works on time will bring great benefits in life.
Try to inculcate reading books as a daily habit in your child. Even if you have a toddler at home, start reading stories and showing picture to him or her. This will help him or her develop interest in reading. Above all, limit screen time for children especially the school going ones. Gather on dinner and make it family dinner daily.
