Fertility Diet for Men

Is there a fertility diet for men? Food plays an important role in maintaining the sexual health of men. Diet and fertility are interrelated. Certain foods boost fertility in men while other may create problems in conceiving. Read on to know the foods for boosting fertility in men.

Food has been an integral part of people’s life. Have you ever thought that certain food items can even affect your ability to conceive? Yes, diet can affect your fertility both, positively and negatively. In fact, nutrition has direct impact on potency of your sperm.

In general, over eating that result in obesity negatively affects fertility in both, men and women. At the same time, if severe weight loss diet is followed; it reduces the sperm formation in men and can disrupt ovulation in women as well.

 

Top Foods for Boosting Fertility in Men

Have a quick look at the foods for boosting fertility in men.

Apple – Apple is said to be a nutritionally well balanced fruit. It is said that daily intake of apple surely increases the sperm count in men. Some believe that it can even do wonders.

Avocados – Avocado is rich in Vitamin E. It not only helps improve sperm motility, but also helps the sperm infiltrate the egg. Also, avocados are rich in Vitamin B6 and folic acid which regulates sexual hormone function which optimises sexual health in general.

Banana – Banana is considered sexual food. It is rich in magnesium, Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Vitamin C and protein. These help increase and stimulate the production of sperm. Banana contains Vitamin B and Bromelain, which regulate sexual hormones powerfully.  This enhances sexual virility.

Cashew Nuts – Cashew nuts are rich source of zinc lack of which is said to decrease sperm volume. So, by adding handful of cashew nuts in your daily diet can even help increase testosterone levels.

Garlic – Garlic contains selenium and Vitamin B6 in huge quantity. Where selenium prevents sperm damage, Vitamin B6 fortifies the immune system and regulates hormones. In addition, allicin in garlic enables perfect erection as it increases the blood flow to the sexual organs.

Oysters – Oysters are rich source of zinc. Just 15 grams of oyster daily can help repair the sperms that are even damaged due to chemicals in the environment.

Pumpkin Seeds – Pumpkin seeds also contain zinc which are important to increase sperm count and testosterone levels. Pumpkin seeds also contain omega 3 fatty acids, which prompt blood flow to sexual organs and enhance sexual activities in turn.

Pomegranate – Pomegranate juice is helpful in increasing sperm count and helps make them healthier too. This also helps in erectile dysfunction and cures almost all problems related to sperms.


Foods to Be Avoided

Here are foods which men can avoid for boosting fertility.

Alcohol – Research shows that too much of alcohol can badly damage sperm count and motility. So, if you are trying to make your partner conceive, keep a check on your alcohol intake.

Caffeine – Along with alcohol, you should also limit your intake of coffee when you are trying to make your partner pregnant.

Junk Food – You must be aware that junk food is not good for your heart and waistline but very few might be aware that fatty, fried and food in high sugar content can impair your fertility even.

High Mercury Fish – Mercury is said to be responsible for infertility in both, men and women. Fish that are rich in mercury are swordfish, tilefish, king mackerel, shark and tuna steak.

The above food items to be avoided and the ones to be added to your daily diet can, no doubt, help you improve your fertility in natural way. Today, many men are suffering from infertility problem and the reason is they are not aware of proper diet.

Nutritionally balanced diet not only helps improve your health in general but also improves your fertility. Add fresh fruits and vegetables in your daily diet and see the difference.

are there any other options for non-vegetarians for boosting fertility. I do not seem to like oysters and i find garlic smelly so if possible please suggest an non-vegetarian alternative to oysters.

its not that diet helps to become fertile but it assists in enhancing the fertility levels by making you healthy naturally. if you have no known cause of infertility, then a change in diet that is healthy foods can help in boosting fertility. For other infertility issues, medical assistance is a must.

how can diet affect the fertility? if one is fertile, i do not think that a change in diet can make him fertile. if this happens, then nobody will need medical assistance and only resort to foods.
