A to Z Guide to Your Child's Brain Development

A to Z Guide to Your Child's Brain Development

Are you aware of the A to Z of your child’s brain development? Read on and find out what you must do to ensure optimum brain development of your child.

A child’s brain develops the maximum during the first three years. So these years are very crucial and parents need to take care of their children by making the kids their first priority. Here is a list of guidelines given what to do to develop your child’s brain. Have a look at these.

Attention

You should always be attentive to your child. When your toddler points out at something, follow your gaze at that thing and do not forget to remark on those things that interest your child. This shows how the interests of your child matters to you.

Books

Choose colourful and bright books for your kid with pictures on it. Point out the things to her; it is a way of teaching her. Modulate your tone of talking while you are talking to your kids. This will enrich her receptive power which is more important than her expressive power.

Confidence

Teach your child to be confident. Confidence grows up with age when failures are accepted. Teach your child to face failures and not to give up whatever the situations are.

Discipline

Set rules those are clear without frightening your kid. Discipline your kid in such a way that you do not need to beat her to follow rules, only a serious tone will let her understand that her behaviour is not expected that way. Rules should be simple and consistent.

Empathetic Feelings

Kindness, caring and sharing are to be taught to kids so that they learn gentle courtesies and emotional feelings. The more they learn about feelings the more attached they will become, and it will also help them in developing positive emotional skills.

Games

Buy toys and games that your child can explore and involves her hands. Kids learn sequential games easily. Toys like building blocks develop her “if-then” reasoning power and she develops her skills in the “cause-effect” relationship.

Humbleness

Teach your kids to be humble. Stubbornness destroys ones well being.

Interest

Look out for things that interest your kids. Spend time in doing those things with your kid to develop her interest more.

Joy

Let your body language and gestures express your joy to validate the lovable nature of your kid. Spend fun moments together.

Love

Love your kid immensely. This love and warmth of the parents helps the kid to feel safe and secure and it is responsible for her development. Touch your little one gently, reports have shown that those kids who are not touched often develop brain that are comparatively smaller than those who are touched.

Meaningful Conversations

In order to develop the brain to understand speech and learn how to talk you should have meaningful conversations with your kids.

Nutritious Foods

Your kids need proper nutrition during her growth years. So try to add as much nutritious food in your child’s diet as possible.

Outlook

To develop your child’s brain you should know how your child perceives the things around her. Rectify her whenever she is wrong.

Positivity

You should teach your kid to be positive. She should not give up hope; this will help her in future.

Questioning Power

This is one of the best ways to develop your child’s brain. Urge your child’s curiosity so that she questions you, calmly answer all her questions. When your kid questions about things that means she is taking interest in the things that she sees.

Respond to the Needs

Respond to your baby when she cries. Cuddle her and calm her by holding her in your arms. This signals her emotional security to her brain.

Self Control

Teach self control to your kids so that she knows how to react under emotional stresses. This development is essential for the well being of kids.

Tolerance

Patience and tolerance are the two most essential features that every parent should have. Childish curiosities to know things should be answered patiently.

Urge to Learn

The more you can urge your kids to learn about things the more she will improve her vocabulary and knowledge.

Watch Activities

Keep a close watch to the activities of your kids so that you can know what she is up to each day.

Yelling a No-No

Do not vent your anger on kids, instead sit together and talk about the matter to kids and explain where your kids went wrong.

Zeal

Build the zeal in your kids to learn and have a positive outlook.
Spend time with your kids and the more you interact with your kids the more quickly she will learn to speak and this is very important for a child’s overall development.

What factors are responsible for brain development in children? How to stimulate brain development of children? What role does nutrition play in child’s brain development? Discuss here.
