Finding words is hard to describe the intelligence of Birbal. Here is one of the stories signifying the sharpness of Birbal’s mind. One day a man who made shields and swords came to the emperor’s court. He claimed that nobody else in the entire kingdom could make the sharpest swords and shields.
He said, “Your honour, no one can make shields and swords like mine. My swords and shields are so sharp that no tool can pierce them and my swords are so sharp that there is nothing that they cannot pierce”.
King Akbar heard the man and was impressed by his confidence. Suddenly Birbal entered the court and said, “Your majesty, I can prove this man wrong.”
“This is not possible!” said the man.
The king was amazed and asked Birbal to prove what he said.
Birbal turned towards the man and said, “Hold one of your sharpest shields and I will penetrate it with one of your sharpest swords”. Birbal smiled.
The man was shocked by Birbal’s answer. King Akbar once again rewarded Birbal.
