It is one thing to look after your children whilst at work. But you also need to look after your home,
mostly by remote control. That remote
control in this case would probably be your telephone.
Proper Planning is Required
As mentioned earlier, you can solve most problems by
planning. Plan ahead for stocking the
house with all the necessities. Make
limitless lists. We live in a wondrous
age where we can reach out to any person (or for any product) on the
telephone. Do ask for your groceries to
be delivered, it will save you a trip to the stores.
Dealing with Visitors
You will also have a steady stream of telephone repairmen, cablewallas, plumbers and vegetable
vendors arriving at your doorstep. You
need them to time their visits to your convenience. For instance it is a good idea if these
people are in and out of your house before the children
come home. You also need to train the
help in the house to deal with them.
Dealing with Maids and Care Givers
It is wise to have capable, experienced help in the house,
even though you will have to pay them more. You will also have to work at maintaining your relationship with your
domestics and always keeping communication channels with them open. The more they are capable of handling what
you delegate to them, the more time you will have for yourself. However, never give up supervising their
Taking Care of Guest and Parties
There are times when you will have dinner
parties or house guests. Again, you need
to plan on the weekends for your requirements ahead of time. It is a good idea to make your masalas and pull out the party dishes
over the weekend. You also need to order
the ingredients in advance. You will not
have too much time in the week. Try and
employ extra help in your home for just those days that you will have the extra
work. You could even hire a catering
unit and skip cooking yourself.
In case of weddings
and other functions in the family, you may need to go to your safety vault one
weekend prior to the event. Ironing and
laundry services are now available at your doorstep.
With a little bit of foresight and a lot of planning you can
manage your home even with a very hectic schedule.
