Pro-Vas (Surgical Contraception Option for Males)

Men were always reluctant to opt for birth control methods, but not anymore. With Pro-Vas birth control is very easy and men also feel comfortable in being proactive in family planning. This male contraceptive method is very effective and safe. Follow the article and be a part of the revolution in male contraceptive methods.

According to the Pro-Vas creators, this is the only male contraceptive method that is highly effective apart from vasectomy or condoms. Birth control becomes easy and men can take full responsibility in this regard that is convenient and comfortable for them as well. It has become a popular and preferred option as the usual surgical complications in the traditional vasectomy is alleviated along with the inevitable pain physical and psychological, associated with it.

How is it Performed?

Pro-Vas is a very simple procedure that should only be conducted in the doctor’s clinic. A general anesthesia is not required in this method. The physician performs the ligation of the vas deferens with the help of a tiny titanium spring clip. This is used to halt the flow of the sperm. In this method the man does not need to go under the scalpel and the time taken for the entire procedure is often less than fifteen minutes. The post procedural pain is also very mild.

Following this procedure the sex drive in the man remains unaffected; the semen is there as usual along with erection and the sensation of reaching the climax. Basically, he enjoys the intercourse in a normal manner. Contrary to the traditional vasectomy, there is absolutely no cut, suture or cauterization of the vas deferens.

How Does the Pro-Vas Method of Contraception Work?

This male contraception procedure prevents pregnancy by natural means. The man can resume his regular activities as early as within 24 hours. In his clinic, the physician preloads the pro-vas clip into an applier as he readies it for the vas deferens application. This is a permanent clip which is very tiny and implantable. It has a titanium torsion spring, whose purpose is to apply persistent and non-stop force on the vas. Since the intention is to halt the flow of the sperm, it needs to be ensured that the man becomes azoospermatic. This means that his semen must not contain any measurable level of sperm.

The person is required to follow the post-operative instructions that are somewhat similar to the ones that are there after vasectomy. The man can be pronounced sterile only after fifteen to twenty ejaculations. This is because the sperm that has already been there in the semen must be ejaculated. It is thus important to conduct a semen analysis test within a couple of months post this procedure in order to ascertain that this birth control method has become effective.
