Famous People with Dyslexia

People are now aware about dyslexia and know that this is a learning disability. With so much awareness about dyslexia, people now know that this disability is not debilitating. Dyslexic people can lead a normal life. Some famous people were dyslexic and this learning disability did not limit their thirst for knowledge. Famous people with dyslexia are a source of inspiration for common people and they have shown the world that nothing can stop one from achieving success.

It is true that children suffering from dyslexia have difficulties in reading, writing and learning, but it is also true that dyslexic individuals often are found to have amazing physical coordination skills. Dyslexia needs to be diagnosed early and when these people receive proper help, they too can lead a rewarding life. It is only the rigid bench-mark of success that we follow result in their lack of confidence. Once we look at the lives of a lot of achievers we find that many of them were dyslexic but were a powerhouse of talent. Here is a brief discussion on a few of them.

Considered to be amongst the greatest painters, Leonardo was a dyslexic, but his vision of the world that we get to know from his works was more logical than mysterious.

John Lennon

This English musician, singer and lyricist is still the brightest star in the realms of popular music. Being the co-founder of The Beatles, John was a rebel from his childhood. He criticised the Vietnam War through his songs which went on to become an emblem of the anti-war movement.

Henry Ford

He had started his career in the military service as a commander in two missions during the Second World War. He was also a Pulitzer Prize winner and considered to be still the most popular amongst all American presidents, the one who successfully managed the Cuban missile crisis, the building of the Berlin Wall and dealt with the African American civil rights movement.

Muhammad Ali

This master American boxer was also a dyslexic. The three-time world heavyweight champion had an amazing fighting style which is rather unorthodox. Regarded as the Sportsman of the Century by Sports Illustrated, Ali was known for his floating like a butterfly and stinging like a bee!
