A Childhood Wish.....

I choose not to disclose my identity as it does not matter and also what I am trying to convey is something faced by a lot of children from different walks of life and different generations too. As a parent , You are always thinking of a good and affordable lifestyle for your kids and you are caught up in the dilemma of what is best from the rest and how differently you could raise them. I am not the best person to talk about how to do that as I am not a parent, but yes I have been a kid and I can definitely tell you what you should not be giving your kids-It’s the freedom to see violence and domestic fights.
I have been born out of failed marriage which witnessed nothing but endless fights almost every day for the last 27 years. The initial days of my birth were followed by their arguments over silly matters, my Father hurling things at my Mother in rage, a tearful Mom spending her nights waiting until dawn for a husband who turned up drunk and unabashed, house echoing with snarls and badmouthing all day long and their two miserable looking kids caught up in the act at an age when they should be playing outdoors like everyone else does.
I was a victim. A silent prey. To a failed relationship. So how badly does this affect you? 27 years it still haunts me. I am no longer a silent observer. I earn. I am respected by both equally and the harmony has grown better. But whenever I am lonely, those bygones days come sprinting back to haunt me. When the stress at work gets the better of you, those dark times mull you again. It just throws you down and keeps you grounded till you let it go. It takes minutes or hours to recover, sometimes days. May be counselling shall do some good. But that is a temporary respite because childhood memories are the strongest imprints we shall ever have in our lives. It is very important that it is filled with love, care, attention, support and plenty of positive thoughts. You are the key to their memories- so make it a lane worth remembering. When you fight with your spouse, ensure you do it outdoors or when they are not at home. And remember to patch up before they see you. It would save your relation and save your kid from a nasty future.
