Exercises
Practice
Yoga in the Right Way

and the movements of your body parts. If you do not do the exercise or the
pranayama properly, it is possible you may get some negative results. So,
take professional guidance before practicing
yoga and gather knowledge and information from right and genuine
sources.
Practice
Yoga in the Presence of a Yoga Teacher – If you are a beginner, you
should start practicing yoga either in the presence of a yoga teacher or
join yoga class so that you learn the basics and the do’s and don’ts of
yoga.
Yoga
with Health Problems – Although there are pranayamas that help you get
rid of blood pressure, blood sugar, asthma and many other health
problems, it is advisable that if you have any serious medical problem and
you are on medication, do not do exercise or quit medicines without the
advice of a doctor or an expert.
Strenuous
Yogic Exercises – You should practice only those yogic exercises
that you are recommended and do not opt the strenuous ones if you are a
beginner and of middle or old age.
Effects
of Peace – When practicing yoga, it is advisable that the room should
be extremely peaceful. If yoga is done in a quiet place, it has further
positive effects on mind, body and soul. However, fresh air is very
important.
Yoga
in an Empty Stomach – It is recommended that yoga should be practiced
in an empty stomach preferably early in the morning or in the evening as
well.
Diet
– You should keep a watch on your diet while practicing yoga and try
to increase intake of vegetables and fruits. Drink at least 8 – 10 glasses
of water no matter whether you practice yoga or not. Water is a great
detoxifier and helps clean the body from inside.
Routine
– Try to maintain routine and practice yoga regularly. This will have
positive impact on your mind, body, and soul and help you improve your
overall health.
Besides these tips, make sure you practice yoga on a
clean mat and prefer the floor. Never do yoga exercises or pranayamas on sofa
or bed. Once you start practicing regularly, you will find that gradually there
are improvements in every walk of life. Try to practice meditation and get rid
of the stress and strains in your life. As you go on practicing, you will find
that your concentration and control on your breathing process is increasing.
Remember, practice makes a man perfect.

So well said that yoga is not a quick fix solution. I completely agree with you. My aunt started practicing pranayama and she thought she would get rid of her diabetes and high blood pressure instantly just like she takes medicine. She only continued for a month and became irregular giving excuses. I found a bit change in many things and even her blood sugar level was normal but she found it very problematic and eventually stopped increasing all her problems.

One of my friends started yoga and she felt the pain increasing day by day. She neglected thinking that it is just because she is new with yoga and the exercise. But she had severe pain one day and had to consult her doctor. I agree with you and your points mentioned in the article. We should not perform yoga without proper and authentic guidance.

Your article is really helpful. In fact I always wanted to start yoga hearing and watching all about its benefits but feared that I may end up with more problems than solving those that I already have. I also feel very lazy to get up early in the morning. But perhaps yoga will help me get rid of this problem also. Thanks a lot for the information you shared.
