Signs that You are Raising a Well-Behaved Child

Are you disciplining your child the right way? Do you ensure that your child is always well-behaved? Here are some signs that you are raising a well-behaved child.
Some parents think that children who show good behaviour are born that way. It is not true. If you observe your child and her behaviour it is possible you will find the signs of good behaviour. If they are lacking somewhere, take some time out and work out a solution. Normally, good behaviour signs go unnoticed and this discourages children. Do not let this happen to your child. Praise good behaviour and encourage your child so that she is appreciated and accepted everywhere she goes.

Signs of Good Behaviour in Your Child

Have a quick look at the signs that you are raising a well-behaved child.

1. Greets Everyone she Meets

If your child says hello and smiles to anyone she meets, it is a good sign. Saying good bye while leaving the place – school, playground or classroom shows that your child now understands when to use these greetings.

2. Says Please, Thank You and Excuse Me

If your child uses please, thank you and excuse me where needed, it is a sign of good behaviour. Encourage these actions so that she knows and repeats such behaviour always.

3. Values Time

Your child gets ready for the school on time and takes care that she reaches everywhere on time. This will help her get punctuality as a habit and she will never have any kind of problem in her life as well.

4. Waits for Her Turn

When your child is playing with other children and she patiently waits for her turn to take action, you can stay assured that your child is learning socializing skills.

5. Takes Permission Before Using

Observe your child and see if she asks her friends permission before using her things even if it is a toy, she is a well behaved child.

6. Does not Interrupt or Yell Out

If you are talking to someone or doing something important, your child wants to say anything but does not say immediately, appreciate it. She waits for you to finish your work and then tells you, she is going to be an understandable person as she grows up.

7. Does not Embarrass Anyone

Some children always take care of the situation of their parents and even their friends or elders. Your child must have learnt this with time or by observing other kids at school. If you see her taking care of others and not creating any embarrassing situation for you, it is a good and positive sign.

8. Plays Nicely and Shares

Younger children have difficulty sharing things with other kids. If your child plays nicely with other children and even shares her toys with them, it is appreciable. It shows she follows good behaviour.

9. Takes Responsibility

If your child does something wrong or destructive and she takes the responsibility of the action, it is a good sign. Making mistake is not a big issue. Help your child understand that everyone makes mistakes. This will help encourage her to tell the truth always in life and have peace of mind.

10. Gives Someone a Compliment

Although, this is pretty much to expect from a young child, but some children do develop this good behaviour pattern. Seeing your child do the same, you can feel happy that your child is showing ultimate signs of good behaviour.
Even if your child shows only one or two of the above signs, it is a positive indication. Encourage your child and help her develop and nurture other good behaviour patterns. Have patience and help your child establish a strong foundation of solid values. Children who show responsibility are known to complete their homework on time and clean up after their work or games is over and help their parents.

How to raise a well-behaved child? What to do when a child misbehaves? Is it necessary to punish children for misbehaviour? Discuss here.
