7 Bad Things That Can Be Good For Kids

7 Bad Things That Can Be Good For Kids
Some bad things may also have some good effects if done occasionally. However, it does not mean that we should allow our kids to do all that is “tagged” as bad. Read on to learn about the 7 things that can be actually good for kids.

It is obviously our job to protect our children from any harm. But sometimes we are too over protective which can cause harm to our children. We often hear parents telling children not to do this or that. Parents should remember that as kids grow up they want their own space; they want to come out of the dependence shell around themselves and want to be independent. They have their own methods of relaxation and so on. Here are some points which parents feel are not good for their children can be actually good sometime.

1. Playing Video Games

Parents might have asked you many times to keep away from video games as it will cause harm to your eyes. But recent study shows that playing video games is really beneficial for kids to a certain extent. As computer games helps kids in developing resilience, empowerment, and fighting spirit. Not only this, it also helps patients who suffers from some mental issues such as depression and stress can vent their anger with the help of it. However, parents should keep in mind that too much indulgence in video games can have harmful effects.

2. Playing in Soil

Playing in soil is considered to be an unhygienic practice by most of the hygiene conscious parents. But many researches prove that playing in soil can actually be beneficial for kids. As per one of the researches, Mycobacterium vaccae naturally found in soil can help to improve mood of kids and stimulate learning in them.
Another research proves that soil can be good for skin. As for playing in soil kids need to be outdoors, they can reap many more benefits of playing in natural settings. To read more about the benefits of playing in dirt for kids, click here.

3. Texting over Phone

It is also considered one of the major topics discussed by parents. Parents often complain about children of always texting. But research say something else, according to study texting allow kids to be in touch with their parents rather being taking phone calls all day.

4. Playing Outdoors in Sun

From childhood days we often heard parents saying not to go in the sun. But research fellows have something else to say. According to latest reports, it is found that sunshine is beneficial if taken in moderation. It is a great source of vitamin D, as we all know which helps in lower blood pressure for those having high blood pressure. Sunlight also helps in lowering cholesterol. But too much exposure to sun can also prove harmful for kids.

5. Enjoying Sugary Soft Drinks

We have seen children liking cola drinks and we fear sometimes that they will gain some extra calories. But according to research, it is proven that when you are completely dehydrated it is better than hydrating your body with water as every can of sugary soft drinks contains empty calories. This can of sugary soft drinks contains caffeine which is not considered good for health, but it has some benefits too. Caffeine helps in breaking down fatty acids in liver and stimulates your kid’s central nervous system. Drinking soft drinks occasionally is alright but regular consumption of soft drinks can have harmful effects on the health of kids.

6. Having Working Mother

People might often disagree with you on this topic, that working mother is not good for kids or working mother are unable to bring up their kid’s in proper manner. But as far the research is considered, it has been found that kid’s having working mothers are more independent in nature as well as smart. As mothers are working they are smart enough to bring up their child in proper way rather than anyone else.

7. Being Overactive

Running, playing and being overactive too much is often considered as a thing of fear for kids as they might hurt themselves by falling down. But as far the studies are concerned it is found that being overactive, running and playing helps in strengthening the cartilage around the knees, it also helps in reducing more calories rather than doing exercise daily.
So it is found from the above discussion, that though we should keep check on our children, but sometimes it is essential to set them free and be their own.

Which bad things can actually have good effects on the development of kids? Is it good to set them kids and be their own once in a while? Are too many restrictions good for the development of kids? Discuss here.
