A mother’s body starts preparing itself for childbirth from the first month of pregnancy. Hormonal changes during
pregnancy are natural. One such pregnancy hormone is responsible to loosen up muscles of lower stomach and lower back ligaments. This is to allow the stomach to grow gradually with the baby.
With abdomen and lower back, the said hormone also passes down the body and makes their knee and ankle muscle loose enough. Because of this their legs strength is affected, making it difficult for them to stand for long duration in pregnancy. Wearing heels will bring a lot of weight on their front feet which may result to swelling during pregnancy.
With a growing baby in a mother’s belly, gravity point of body often changes during pregnancy. This gravity point is responsible for the balance of body while walking, standing, sleeping etc. It often becomes difficult to maintain balance during pregnancy. Naturally, it is difficult to maintain their stability with high heels with the weight they are carrying in abdomen.

Growing baby in abdomen puts a lot of weight in the front of women body. Keeping straight becomes difficult even with bare foot. Wearing heels would bring a lot of struggle for them to maintain their body posture. With heels it becomes difficult at times to keep their body stable. This may bring instances of falling down hurting themselves and growing foetus during their pregnancy.
Discomfort
Pregnancy hormones not only affect a mother’s stomach and lower back, but also loosen up leg ligaments. Feet muscles are stretched enough during this phase. This would change their shoe size during pregnancy. Wearing heels or fashion shoes would bring lots of discomfort and pain them during pregnancy term.
Leg Swelling

back pain. During pregnancy, gravity point, body shape and weight of a mother often changes to accommodate foetus. With most of the body weight in front side, their lower back muscles constantly support their body to maintain proper posture. Wearing heels would add more responsibility on their back as body tends to lean little forward with heels. During pregnancy, muscles are already stretched. High heels would bring lots of pain in back, sometimes unbearable, for a mother.
