Christians follow the teachings of the Bible. There are several versions of the Bible and it has been translated to more than 500 languages. Currently, the complete Bible is available in 554 languages.
Teachings of Christianity and Jesus Christ
When Jesus took birth on this planet, he preached love and said that he was the son of God. Christianity proclaims the love of God for man and how he knows and cares for each individual. Jesus says in his teachings that the very hairs on your head are numbered and not a sparrow falls without him knowing.
Thus, we learn that God is everywhere and nothing happens without his permission. The Bible says that - "For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
Birth of Jesus
Jesus of Nazareth was born on 25th of December which is the day celebrated as
Christmas. When Jesus was born, there was an unusual star in the sky. Three wise men came from far since the star in the sky symbolized to them the birth of a special king in Israel.
They brought with them special gifts like gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. King Herod was very disturbed when people told him that a special person had been born since he did not want his power to go away. Jesus was born in a manger because there was no place in the inn. His parents were Joseph and Mary.
Life of Jesus
Jesus performed any miracles during his lifetime. He healed lepers and a man who was born blind. He tried to spread the message of God during his life. Some people believed in him and became his followers while others rebelled and refused to follow him.
He led a perfect life. He spoke about the goodness of
God and the importance of the Father. He spoke only the truth. He loved the people and tried to serve as much as possible. Jesus travelled all over the land and healed the sick. He was on the side of the downtrodden and the poor.
Why Did Some People Hate Jesus and Want Him Dead?
Jesus was born for the upliftment of humanity. He told people to be good and mend their bad ways. He told them that the Lord hates wickedness and evil.
Some greedy and proud people did not want to change or repent. They did not want to become good. Even during those days there was a lot of inequality and some people were treated as slaves. When Jesus stopped people from doing wrong and troubling others, they got angry. These people did not like him and decided that they wanted him hanged.
“Crucify him!”
Just like today, even in those days there were many people who were too proud due to various reasons. There were many politically powerful and wealthy people who opposed the change which Jesus brought about. They did not want Jesus to survive. Jesus told people that they should believe in God and not chase material wealth like food, clothing or drink. They did not like his teachings.
There were many people holding positions of power and prestige. They were living off the poor and ill-treating them. They did not want their control and position to go away. After Jesus starting preaching and spreading the message of humanity, these people were afraid of Jesus. Hence, they started turning against him and decided to crucify him.
Jesus died on the cross and the day was believed to be a Friday. They gave him a very painful death even after he did so much for saving the people. The day Lord Jesus was hanged on the cross is known as Good Friday. It is a day of mourning for Christians all over the world.
