Tips for Childproofing Your Electronic Gadgets

Tips for Childproofing Your Electronic Gadgets

Today’s children are more interested to play with gadgets than toys. But letting children play with electronic devices and gadgets can be risky. Here is how you can childproof your electronic devices and gadgets.

It is a very common attraction of kids to play with electronic stuffs. They like to play games on their parents’ smart phones resulting in unwanted deletion of contacts, or even unwanted purchases and payment of huge bills. To prevent these accidental happenings you need to childproof your electronic devices to keep them safe.
Here are some of the methods discussed how to childproof your electronic devices.

Set Passwords or PIN to all Your Electronic Gadgets

Keep your devices locked with a strong password every time you are done with using your devices. Kids find it really difficult to unlock it when locked by passwords. This way you can save your devices from the baby invasion. It will also help you to track your devices if they are stolen.

Sign Out from Applications that Involve Money Transfers

Before you hand over your device to your kids for playing games, make sure that you log out from any such applications that involve online purchasing. Kids may unknowingly click on a thing that may seem appealing to them and make money transfers without your notice. And when you realize it will be too late. This may result in unwanted confusions and harassments.

Use Well-Built Screen Protectors

Kids may cause physical harm to devices as well. So to protect your gadgets from any physical harm, buy a strong protector when you are using mobile phones and tablets. This will save your mobiles and tablets from scratches and also will keep the mobile screen clean. Nowadays shock absorbing mobile cases are available in the market that will safeguard your device in case it is dropped down hard on the ground.

Set-Up Controls in Your Device

Most of the operating systems are supported by a default parental control. By this you can block those sites which you do not want your kids to open. So set up those internet safety controls in your devices before you give your gadgets to your kids. Kids will not know about these sites and you will also be relieved.

Cover Up the Power Button

Kids are smart enough to press the power key in order to switch on the device. So it is a very good idea to protect the power button with a powerful cover so that your kid cannot open that cover and switch on the power key. It will also prevent them from getting electric shocks if by any chance they put their hands in the wrong place on any electronic devices.

Keep your Devices Away from Food Stuffs and Drinks

Even if you give your devices to kids, warn them not to bring any food stuffs or drinks near the devices. If the devices are damaged due to spilling of drinks over it, they lose the warranty opportunities and cannot be replaced.

Keep Electronic Devices Out of Reach of Children

It is better to keep your gadgets out of reach of small children. Do not allow them to play with such devices until they reach a particular age when they will understand the ways how to handle those devices. It is not a very wise idea to make your child learn to play brain teaser games on smart phones. This may become an addiction which is harmful. So instead of allowing him to play games on your tablets and phones, buy him simpler games which he can handle.
Until your kid attain a particular age, it is better not to allow him or her to use such electronic stuffs. There will be a lot of opportunities when you can gift your child such electronic devices. But for the time being give him or her time to grow up.
