Cooking Tips and Tricks for Busy Moms

Some cooking tips and tricks can save a lot of time and prevent hassle during the rush hours. Here are some cooking tips and tricks for busy moms.
Being a mom is wonderful, but not a walk in the park. However, if you happen to be a working mom, managing both motherhood and professional life can be daunting. It will be easy to lose your mind sometimes having to handle both the lives together, but then again, where there is a will, there is a way and it is all worth it for the well-being of you children.
Nothing will make you more content than seeing your children smile and do well in their lives. Needless to say, the most stressful time of the day comes when you have to cook. Cooking is one of the major tasks that will be hard going through considering all the other work you have to do, especially with children in your life. Here are a few cooking tips and tricks to help you in your busy day to day life.

Make it Simple Yet Scrumptious

Cooking for children is not rocket science. They do not need any kind of complex meal. Keep it simple and nutritious yet something that they will enjoy having. Food items like roasted chicken, soup, wholegrain pasta, tasty vegetable dishes, sandwiches and the like are simple yet healthy and fun to eat.
Do not indulge them with fatty foods and too many sweets even if they are easy to come by. Avoid microwave meals as they are fatty and the preservatives in it might not be healthy for your child.

Stock Your Refrigerator

Go out shopping every once in a while and stock your pantry for quite a few days. This will prevent you from running to the market every now and then. However, label your food properly. This step is extremely important especially when you have kids in your life.

Plan Ahead

During your spare time, plan ahead for the rest of the week. This will make your job and your life easier. Collect simple recipes and food items that you would want to cook and keep them handy. You can also pack your child’s lunch first so that you do not have to hustle and bustle in the morning.

Make Preparations a Day Before

A day before, clean and chop all the vegetables and keep them ready for the next day. You can store them in refrigerator. Keep all ingredients that you will need ready instead of hunting of them during the rush hours. This way it will help you to reduce the time required for cooking in the morning.

Buy Convenience Products

Convenience products are very easy to come by. Everything does not have to be made from the scratch to be healthy. You can buy bottled sauces, canned products like beans, readymade ginger-garlic paste, masalas which are safe and handy to use within a stipulated period of time.

Cook Large Portions

Cook double portions of whatever you make. That way, you can refrigerate them to be eaten for another meal later on. But make sure that you do not use the same refrigerated food for the next day also as feeding stale food to kids can be harmful for their health.

Get a Helping Hand

Get your kids to help you set the table and the plates or do the dishes. This will in turn be all the more useful because they will develop good habits.

Set Proper Time

Setting time for doing each and every cooking chore will help you to prevent hassle. Set adequate time for each cooking activity and try to match it. Go to bed early and getup on time so that everything goes smoothly.
Keeping your children healthy and well-nourished is a very significant part of being a good parent. Hence, making sure that your child’s daily nutritional needs are satisfied is of utmost importance. Too much fast food and junk food will upset their delicate digestive processes and also end up making them unnecessarily obese if the intake is not checked.
Freshly made meals are more preferable than microwave meals. Even though you happen to be a busy mother, a quick and fresh meal will not only help you raise a healthy child but also aid in your time management. You will be tired and fatigue will often overcome your senses which is why resting and taking out a little bit of time to relax is very important as well.
Do not push yourself too hard. Teach your children to finish their meals on their own as well. They will inculcate a sense of autonomy and independence and not have to be fed every single meal thereby saving your time.

Sprouts are very easy to cook using a cooker and are nutritious as well so moms can include them in the diet of children every alternate day.

Does the nutritive value of vegetables deteriorate if they are chopped and refrigerated the earlier night.
