The rules/requirements for the Baby Photo Contests are as follows:

  • Registered Member:You should be a registered member of in order to enter your baby in the contests or vote for your baby;
  • Age:The contestant's age should be less than 3 and half years;
  • Number of photos:You can submit a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 4 photos for each entry. 3 of these should be individual photos of your child and 1 should be a family photograph.
  • Format of photo:The photograph should be in 'jpeg' format only. Please confirm the clarity of the photo before submitting it. Photographs which are not clear or legible will not be accepted (especially those taken from the Mobile phone).
  • Dimensions of the photo:You can upload photos of any size, as we offer you a photo cropping tool to size the photos as per our specifications.

You can change the images as many times as you wish before the contest starts by going to the contestant's entry page and logging in with the same email ID used to register in the contest. Once the contest starts, however, you will be unable to change the images.

Yes, if the overall impression of the baby's photos significantly increases.

Each contest runs for around 6 to 7 days depending upon the number of days in a month and any holidays falling on the contest dates. You will be informed about the start and end date of the contest via email.

To ensure a fair chance to all contestants, we only allow 48 contestants per contest. If we have more contestants registering, we increase the number of contests but the number of contestants per contest does not change.

Depending upon the number of contestants registering at any given point of time, anywhere from 2 to 4 contests are held each week.

It is automatically put in the next available contest as we take limited entries per week. In case of some technical issues, it might take little longer. But you will be informed about your contest dates as soon as you complete your registration process.

No. You do not need to pay anything in order to register for our contests and there are no hidden costs also. This feature is a part of our FREE Services provided to all our valued members.

You can submit a maximum of 4 photos at the time of registration for the contest. Make sure you submit photos that are clear not blurry or grainy. Unclear, grainy photos and photos that do not seem to be legible will be rejected by us. Please make sure that your baby's face is clear and fully visible.

Some tips:
Photographs in which your baby's face takes up most of the photo are preferable;
  • Ensure your baby is alone in the primary and secondary photos;
  • Photographs taken in proper lighting conditions make a big difference. If photos are too light, too dark or shadowed it is difficult for your baby's photo to be judged and hence, may be rejected at the time of registration;
  • You must own the copyrights to any photos that you submit.

No. We only accept photographs that are uploaded via our website, at this time. You can have your photographs scanned and saved on disk at a cyber cafe or a friend's place if you don't have a digital camera or scanner.

During the registration process, you will be asked to enter your spouse's email ID. On doing so, a verification email will be sent to your spouse. Once your spouse completes the verification process, his IndiaParenting Profile will be linked to yours on your baby's entry page as well as your profile page.

If you did not add your spouse's email ID at the time of registration, you can still add your spouse to the contest entry page. To do so, login with the same email ID used to register in the contest. Click on Add Spouse Details and enter your spouse's email ID. A verification email will be sent to your spouse. Once your spouse completes the verification process, his IndiaParenting Profile will be linked to yours on your baby's entry page as well as your profile page.

Your baby can participate in the contest every 6 months, provided he or she is under 3.5 years of age.

After you submit your registration, you will be redirected to your baby's contest entry page which confirms that we have received your entry and the contest week that your baby has been inserted in. You will also receive an email confirming the same.

Login with the same email ID with which you had registered your Baby in the contest. Then click on 'My Entries' in the Baby Photo Contest Navbar and you will see your baby's name. Click on it and you will be taken to your Baby's contest Entry Page. You can also search for your Baby's Entry page by clicking on 'Search' in the Baby Photo Contest Navbar and typing your baby's name in the Search Bar.

Immediately after your contest registration is completed, you will receive an email confirming your contest participation. The email will also contain details such as the start date and end date of the contest that your baby?s entry has been inserted in.

Not only will the contest confirmation email contain the dates of the contest, but you will also receive another email informing you and your spouse when the contest begins.

In order to vote, you need to be logged in to IndiaParenting, ideally from your Facebook Account. There are 2 ways to vote for a Baby participating in the Baby Photo Contest:

  • Daily Voting: You can vote for a baby once every day of the contest, from one email ID, by clicking on the Vote Button
  • Facebook Like: You can click on Facebook Like only ONCE in the duration of the contest to give 4 bonus points to the baby. Clicking Facebook Like a second time will lead to a subtraction of the 4 bonus points that the baby had received.
Therefore, Number of Votes + (Number of Facebook Likes x 4 Bonus Points) = Total Points

Voting is allowed once per day per login ID. You can come back and vote for your baby once every day and ask your friends and family to do the same as well. Manipulation of voting or any kind of unfair practice will lead to disqualification of the baby from the contest.

You can ask your friends and family to vote for your baby every day of the contest. To make this easier, we have provided a Facebook Share option on your baby's contest entry page. Not just you and your spouse, but also your friends and family can click on Facebook Share to ask for more votes.

Upon Voting, all voters are asked to leave a Facebook message on your baby's entry page to let you and your spouse know that they voted. Doing so, shares their comment with all their Facebook friends which will also lead to more votes for your baby. Replying to their Facebook comments will also help you to increase the number of people who see your Baby's Vote Appeal on Facebook.

So encourage your friends and family to use Facebook Share and Facebook Comment to get more Votes, and to come back and vote everyday of the contest.

Yes. Your spouse and you will receive one email every day informing you about the total votes and comments that your baby has received, what is his or her competition and how many voted has the current leader in the competition got. Knowing this information will help you decide whether you need to ask your friends and family to vote and share a vote appeal or not.

You will receive an email informing you and your spouse when the contest ends. Currently, the contests are held/changed on the 1st, 8th, 16th and 24th of each month. These dates may differ, in case, these dates fall on a weekend or public holiday.

All the dates specified for contest change/closure are according to Indian Standard Time (IST).

At present, there is no specific time for closing a contest. The contest will be closed anytime during the day, on the specified closing date. The next contest will also start on the same day.

In the past contests we had noticed that some contestants had tried to engage in last minute manipulation of voting. Hence, in order to prevent such activities, we closed the contests at anytime during the day. Please note that we have no interests in influencing the results in anyway, as the Baby Photo Contest is an extra interactive feature provided for all our valued site members since its launch, in August 1999.

Yes, we reserve the right to disqualify a contestant, if we believe that there has been manipulation of voting or unfair means have been resorted to, in order to win the contest. Anybody found buying of Facebook votes will also be disqualified. In such a case, the next contestant with the highest number of votes is declared as the 'Popular Awards' winner.

Popular Choice Awards is based on the total number of votes, whereby a baby receiving the highest number of votes wins. On the other hand, a Critics Choice Award is purely based on the decision taken by our Panel of Judges and does not consider the number of votes casted for a baby.

You will come to know about each of the above mentioned points, through our mails which will be sent to you when such an event happens.

When your baby wins the contest, a mail will be sent to your registered email address informing you about the same and asking your address details. As soon as you reply to this mail, your baby's prize will be mailed to you.

You should receive a mail on the same day when your baby was declared the winner of a contest. You will not be able to receive such a mail in case any of your details, filled at the time of registration, were wrong. Hence, please make sure that you fill in the correct details at the time of registration for a contest.
