Hie to all,

After reading all the listed problems in this section I too need some advice on the problem or rather the issued that makes me feel so sad and miserable thinking of it all the time. See its not all that we need in laws to make our life miserable...in my case its my husband's sister in law who is my co sister. At the time of our arrangement of marriage she was the only one who calls and soon we became really very good friends and well connected. Eventually we shared so many things I mean happines sadness etc so I too shared my problems and sadness with her was really a Very Wrong Move. She went aroound spreading about it and made some trouble for my parents. Then she used to comment and complain on each and every member of my hubasnd's family members. But the funny thing is in front of them she is sooooooooo fakingly nice. But I had to maintain a good relationship since she is a family member. She used to come and stay for holidays with us and when she goes to back she would have said so many lies and bad things about me and my family. She will add up her own stories and can never keep anything to herself as I was told by my husband's niece. Actually my husband comes from a very big family and his niece is infact older to him. So I got really very angry since I never used to complain or tell anythign about her to anyone till I came to know that he had bad mouth my family. So I too had told all that she had said to my hubasnd's niece out of anger. Then we forgot about it and since my husband got a job in the US we came here and I thought all will be fine now.....my guess was wrong she still continued to say things and also to my surprise my hubasnd's niece is not afterall the nicest one too she also had said things to her like my husband and I said that we dont like her and etc.....now whom will I trust........no one....just that I feel like giving a piece of my mind to them but at the end I m the bad one. So I really feel like I need to do something so that my husband's co sister and hi niece will stop all this carrying tales and backbitching. But I dont know how. But one thing infront of me they are as I said fakibgly nice but also brags alot. I know my message is a lengthy one but I would truly appreciate advice from all of you out there...as this has got into me so much that I cant stop thinking about it and makes me so miserrable. I also have tried talking to my husband but he told me just ignore but how long can I do this and let them enjoy their disgusting habits.....

Pls advice and thank you

Ignore and do not keep any kind of relationship with them. Sometimes silent treatment works. I also do that to my dewrani(co-sis) she comes right back to me making amends. I know it is hard to forget but atleast try to forgive for your own sanity.
good luck and god bless

I think your husband is right, you should just ignore. Co-sis and all SILs have bitching nature. Its nothing new. One can't help it. Feel glad that you don't have to live in the same house as her. Imagine how it would have been! So be happy n all the best!

Hi !
People are like this in my family also so now that I know about them ... I just stay away from them . I try to meet them less and less ... keep my distance ... dont tell them anything ....just ignore them . If you dont give them any importance then no one will listen to them . Next time you listen to their story just laugh on their face ... that may stop them .
Good luck

How to deal with this?
I feel that my husbands parents are using their son. My husband is from India and I am from the USA. He obtained his greencard and citizenship through me after coming here. He is a physician and obtained his residency training. I worked to earn for our family for two years until he got his job. Then he applied for his parents to visit us on a visiting visa. RE:self centered inlaws
I agree they have completely double standards as I recently found out. I saw my husbands childhood photos when he was young. His parents claim they sacrificed everything for their kids and lived poor and behave like martyr parents. Got treated as free domestic servant. But the photos showed them dressed like Bollywood stars with watches and jewellery enjoying their life. O... - Tina [View Message]

RE:Mother-in-law spoiling my child
hello kajal,
if you are rudely talking with her, then this is not way to talking with your mother in law, you tell her in polite way, your son is her grand son, so she never think about his bad effects.... - ruchita [View Message]
