Bowel and Bladder Movements:3 months old constipated help....

My DD is 3 months old and appears to be constipated. Used to go almost daily, but hasnt gone for almost 4 days now. Plenty of wet nappys and nothing in her diet has changed.
She is taking breastmilk and one formulafeed at night.
please let me know some remedy as she is having lot of pain and i can see she is trying to push it out. I give her gripe water for pain and then she settles down.

well nothing can be said or tried on 3month old, if you are breastfeeding,,,your increasing fiber foods might help,,its been 4 days,,not worth waiting a day more,,please ask your dr to make sure that everything is okay !
since you have given gripe water and she seems to feel better, continue that, and its because of some food that you must have taken like lentils or something thats really gassy..also if you are in US, mylicon helps,,,
but its 4 days now,,so better get her checked by her doc !

You can get either glycerin or bisacodyl suppositories in any Indian pharmacy - I recommend saving money by not buying child-size ones, instead cutting adult supps in half to make a child-size dosage.

Most doctors say banana doesn't help - the potassium in it makes constipation worse. Remember you can make your own prune puree in a blender. Grape, grapefruit and papaya are also laxative fruits. And remember you can safely use baby suppositories as often as you need to (they also help with "training" the baby to do a dirty at the same time every day)... - Su 03 [View Message]
