Mine was an arranged marriage and we have been married for four uyears and in this june it is gone to be our fifth year.We have an year old son who is really a god' s gift for us.

for the past two years me and my husband have been going through lots of problems like inlaws issues....my inlaws are very pocessive in nature and they are just scared that there son will go away from them and inturn she makes usre that her son is ith her and she advices the son in a wrong way that he also trusts her and he treats his parents as god.for him his parents comes first in his list .....even if his mother says that divorce ur wife he would do as he is least bothered.we have not had a happy life for the past two years just for the sake of it we live in the same house.i am a typical servant in that house.I am happy only becoz of my son who makes my day and I just love him.i hate this life but i am holding it only becoz of my son and my parents.

Hi

I too am facing the same problem, mine is a love marriage and we are married for the past three years, I have got twin sons as of now they are my treasures. My in laws are very possesive of their son, we were living together for so long but just for the past 6 months we have come in separately.

We bought a flat of our own even before wedding but my MIL made a huge fuss in sending us separate, I had a bedroom with no doors and was working initially had no space to sleep in the night, my hubby never understood all these..

His parents and brother always stand first for him, even now after we have come separate he doesnt spend time with me properly, we have had lot of fights and he has even beaten me up, he claims he loves me but keeps blaming me always for separating him from his family.

Ours is a cross marriage too, i fought with my family to get married to him, now he hardly even spend any quality time with me, always hez bothered about his parents that has given me a unwanted feeling and i feel so worthless in his life..i dont know wat to do now?

Hi There,
I think that this is the common problem across India in Metros..While we choose our life partner we just see the crust and not the core..From core all thes men are hollow and insensitive..Try to develop ur own hobby like singng, painting etc..be busy in ur babies and grooming them..even if ur husband dont spend time with u then also dont worry after all one day he will realize ur importance and for that you have to create ur own place by making urself away from him for a while..Ima doing the same and it is helping..

i am going through the SAME thing. My husband is pretty much spineless when it comes to his parents. and always chooses them over me. Im pregnant right now, and im doing the same, im doing what i have to do for my child and my parents. thats it.
if you havent yet, try telling him how you feel. but it sounds like ur not gonna get thru to him at all....he seems like my husband does.

my situation is very complicated, but basically im not gonna live my life with him, that isnt a life. he doesnt treat me right at all. so unless he changes, im out. my parents know this, and they support me 100%. its not easy for them either, but its better living alone then a life being miserable.

trust me, i know how hard it is. and its not fair to you. because you didnt do anything to deserve not to be loved. talk to your parents about it too. see what they say.

Dear Chandra and 1420

I can´ t believe that some men can be so spineless and not see what is going on in front of their eyes. One day their parents will go and then they will sit and ponder on what they did wrong ´ cos that is the only relationship left - a part-time dad and rubbish ex-husband.

I hope the both of you get the love that you both deserve, be strong and God will give you the strength to move in a happier direction. Best of luck xx

How to deal with this?
I feel that my husbands parents are using their son. My husband is from India and I am from the USA. He obtained his greencard and citizenship through me after coming here. He is a physician and obtained his residency training. I worked to earn for our family for two years until he got his job. Then he applied for his parents to visit us on a visiting visa. RE:self centered inlaws
I agree they have completely double standards as I recently found out. I saw my husbands childhood photos when he was young. His parents claim they sacrificed everything for their kids and lived poor and behave like martyr parents. Got treated as free domestic servant. But the photos showed them dressed like Bollywood stars with watches and jewellery enjoying their life. O... - Tina [View Message]

RE:Mother-in-law spoiling my child
hello kajal,
if you are rudely talking with her, then this is not way to talking with your mother in law, you tell her in polite way, your son is her grand son, so she never think about his bad effects.... - ruchita [View Message]
RE:Mother-in-law spoiling my child
hello kajal,
stop your negative thinking towards your mother in law, she is your son grand mother too, so if she gave some sweet like sugar to him its just because of her love towards him.... - reshma [View Message]
