Samantha,
you are in a very happy situation..believe me....take incharge and be a dominating authority in the home(at the same time be nice)...and do this as soon as you can....

there are so many girls where inlaws try to dominate and they feel so suppressed all the time...they feel bad they cant cook food their way, they cant decorate their room their way, they cant eat what they want, they cant shop the way they like....

so cheer up girl....and its the best time to be the power in the house...

let me tell you how....cook what u and ur husband like....this way ur going to have ur husband respect u even more...we all knows guys like to have a girl who can cook well...they get flattered...so do it..u have a chance here...

then in your house...do all the stuff by urself...dheere dheere start talking to ur husband for financial decisons too...u both decide what has to be done...its good na...

then slowly steadily make friends...expand your circle...start ur own social circle and see how u will enjoy ur life...its good that ur inlaws are nt bothering u at all....

so girl, before u start ur job use this time to get an pper hand in the house....this will help u all throguh ur life....take ur decisions and live the way u want to live....

respect the parents inlaw at the same time and do what u want to do for them....so here you are not unnecessarily pressurized to do this and that....

take that advantage and control the things immediately....

How to deal with this?
I feel that my husbands parents are using their son. My husband is from India and I am from the USA. He obtained his greencard and citizenship through me after coming here. He is a physician and obtained his residency training. I worked to earn for our family for two years until he got his job. Then he applied for his parents to visit us on a visiting visa. We were both wo... - Tina Shah [View Message]
RE:self centered inlaws
I agree they have completely double standards as I recently found out. I saw my husbands childhood photos when he was young. His parents claim they sacrificed everything for their kids and lived poor and behave like martyr parents. Got treated as free domestic servant. But the photos showed them dressed like Bollywood stars with watches and jewellery enjoying their life. O... - Tina [View Message]

RE:Mother-in-law spoiling my child
hello kajal,
if you are rudely talking with her, then this is not way to talking with your mother in law, you tell her in polite way, your son is her grand son, so she never think about his bad effects.... - ruchita [View Message]
RE:Mother-in-law spoiling my child
hello kajal,
stop your negative thinking towards your mother in law, she is your son grand mother too, so if she gave some sweet like sugar to him its just because of her love towards him.... - reshma [View Message]
