Role of in-laws:worried mom

Hi
I have an 11 yr old son .My prob is that he only likes my MIL and not me . This I noticed long back.Strange thing is that even my husband encourages this ,i didnt mean that he cannot be with his gr .mom .But there is a limit.ever since he was a child my husband wants to give my child to my MIL.which I refused. Now one more thing I should tell u is my son is some times very indisciplined n arrogant .So my hubby n my Mil always try to point out n try to put the blame on me .I am only responsible for his misbehaviour n they try to keep on pointing n blaming me .U know the greatest problem is my hubby.he doesnt have any affection towards me ,besides when iam trying to teach my kids he tries to point out the mistake n instead shouts n abuses me .
My Bil is another headache ,once my son just misbehaved when they came in my absence. So even he started to say some indirect words which hurts me really bad.He has 2 sons n they have every control over their kids because of the understanding between the wife n husband, where we dont have . My mil always says I am to be blamed for all this in which I failed to have control over the kid. This is something hard to digest. Here my hubby is most to be blamed instead they do it to me. He never respect me before kids. How can i gulp this.I am loosing my strnght n patience. He always praises his mother before me ,but Iam nothing to him.
My son use to like me a lot untill my daughter is born .He even fights with the sis.I really dont know what made my son turn towards her[my Mil].
Hmmmmm....it is a big vicious circle where they treat me as an outsider. My concern here is my son n how to make him good before othrs n be loving n caring towards me n my daughter.pls helpme. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Mine was also the same saga..But things have changed now because i had to change myself for that and it just took little \" BOLDNESS\" .First of all i advice you to talk to your MIL tht you need your son that way she needs her son always compare your son with her son..cry in front of her tht it hurts when your son iGNORES YOU..make sure you set your time with your son i mean atleast 4 to 5 hours with u ..dont spend time with him when ur mil is around for few days try to do every thing he likes he will definately change..Regarding ur hubby tell him that you will change your son for good if ur son starts loving you first..if u act timid infront of ur hubby and mil regrding ur son they will take u for granted hence be bold to say tht u need ur son' s company..

How to deal with this?
I feel that my husbands parents are using their son. My husband is from India and I am from the USA. He obtained his greencard and citizenship through me after coming here. He is a physician and obtained his residency training. I worked to earn for our family for two years until he got his job. Then he applied for his parents to visit us on a visiting visa. We were both wo... - Tina Shah [View Message]
RE:self centered inlaws
I agree they have completely double standards as I recently found out. I saw my husbands childhood photos when he was young. His parents claim they sacrificed everything for their kids and lived poor and behave like martyr parents. Got treated as free domestic servant. But the photos showed them dressed like Bollywood stars with watches and jewellery enjoying their life. O... - Tina [View Message]

RE:Mother-in-law spoiling my child
hello kajal,
if you are rudely talking with her, then this is not way to talking with your mother in law, you tell her in polite way, your son is her grand son, so she never think about his bad effects.... - ruchita [View Message]
