Role of in-laws:need advice

My in-laws are visiting us this summer. This is first time they going to be with me after my marriage, been married for more than 4 years. I am already nervous because they are very nosy and pushy not educated . And i am a stay at home mom. And i really keep wondering how my hubby will treat me in front of their parents, since this is going to be the first time for all of us to live under the same roof. Even if my hubby and me bring up any conversation my hubby usually supports his parents or his side of the family. And they are going to be here for 4 1/2 months. which i feel is a longgggg period. so any advice on how to handle the in-laws from the
dil's.

hi,

well m also looking forward to hear the replies of other DIL's for your question as am gonna face the same situation when i go back to india with my newborn.my in laws havent bothered to show any love n concern for me in my complete pregnancy but now they are all ready in advance with thier bags packed to come to my place for a stay just to show off that they are happy for me but basically to gain control over my baby so that the kid dosent get close to my family.i too am nervous and pissed off but cant help it.

well wat am gonna do is keep my ear n eyes open all the time so that they dont get any oppurtunity to poison my hubby against me.on phone they manage very well to create a rift between me n my hubby so i can imagine how they'll be when they cum down and u too do the same.shower extra love n affection on ur hubby during that time.

well im gonna make it clear with them that they have to help me around the house as i cant manage household work n the baby and the guests at the same time.they cant expect us to be thier slaves.

just do wats possible from ur side but dont over do it just to please them coz watever we DIL's do they will never appreciate it so might as well do less and u know what the more ur nice and extra sweet the more they will cum down ;)
be nice and humble and respectful and expect the same.hubbies love it wen we keep a smile on our face even if only we know that its fake but dont take any bullshit from them beyond certain limit as this is how we give them control over us.this is very important.well sweetie best of luck and be happy.take care.bye.

How to deal with this?
I feel that my husbands parents are using their son. My husband is from India and I am from the USA. He obtained his greencard and citizenship through me after coming here. He is a physician and obtained his residency training. I worked to earn for our family for two years until he got his job. Then he applied for his parents to visit us on a visiting visa. We were both wo... - Tina Shah [View Message]
RE:self centered inlaws
I agree they have completely double standards as I recently found out. I saw my husbands childhood photos when he was young. His parents claim they sacrificed everything for their kids and lived poor and behave like martyr parents. Got treated as free domestic servant. But the photos showed them dressed like Bollywood stars with watches and jewellery enjoying their life. O... - Tina [View Message]

RE:Mother-in-law spoiling my child
hello kajal,
if you are rudely talking with her, then this is not way to talking with your mother in law, you tell her in polite way, your son is her grand son, so she never think about his bad effects.... - ruchita [View Message]
