Grandparenting:Disciplining grandchildren

I am very saddened to see my daughter not raising her kid in a proper manner. She has not taught her the importance of discipline. We have certain rules when children and grandchildren visit us and that is to be well behaved. When we remind the grandchildren of the rules, they ado not listen or they just keep doing what they are doing. If I try to discipline them at my place, the kids sulk or talk back.

Try to turn the situation on its head by creating a positive motive for the grandchildren to cooperate. try making it fun to do things your way. Make a game of teaching manners. You' re dealing with young minds that are curious. Since you can' t set limits, give them challenges. you will be amazed to know how well your grandchildren will behave in a short time.

This is a very sticky situation. The problem is with you. you should have expressed your concerns to your kids about their parenting skills. this could have saved the situation. You should try to manage the kids in a playful manner. Teach them while playing or when they are in a good mood.

Your brother should see all this and talk to his wife about her behavior. What she is doing is not at all acceptable and she has to change and learn how to behave or just leave if she wants to.... - NN [View Message]
RE:Problem with my brothers wif attitude
You should tell your brother to talk to his wife about all this and sort things out. If you or someone else tries to talk things can get out if hand and relations can be affected permanently. Let your brother handle it.... - NN [View Message]

Hello Vikki T
Some girls would be like that only because they do not know the value of relations they every thing must be done according to their wish only. So for such ladies you need to behave according to them only otherwise they would create such homes lacking of happiness only. So take decision accordingly to your family. ... - Megha [View Message]
