I am a grandmother to a year old granddaughter, the child of my married daughter. I am happy to be with her and have her around. But lately I feel like I am just a nanny to her. I watch her while her parents are at work. I take care of her and since birth, I am with her taking care of all her needs. The problem is that, though I am allowed to care for her, I am not allowed to take her to any places, or have fun experiences with her. When her parents come back, they are with her. Lalima replied. I' ve never heard of parents not wanting the grandparents to do anything fun with the grandkids. Although I understand your desire to share special times with your grandchild, I can promise you that the everyday activities that you do with your granddaughter will be remembered longer than most one-time events. I agree that you must be feeling sad especially after you have agreed to provide child care.
